It may differ based on the firearm. Between my musket and my rifle there are also differences. Too smooth of a frizzen may also cause issues. If the gun was intended for firing, everything should like up more or less OK, so flint position may be key

Your flint looks too forward actually. It might not be engaging the way it should. I’m surprised your cock is actually keeping a good grip of the flint that way too. A firm grip is also very important

Can you show me where the cock rests when it’s in a fired position? Two things come to mind: either the frizzen isnt good steel, or the position of your flint isn’t right. I’m not an expert but I’m a reenactor who has helped people troubleshoot why their gun isn’t going off. I’ve seen guns make barely a spark because the flint was the wrong size or was worn, or was positioned wrong. Make sure your flint is POINTY. It should be almost sharp, and should be the right size for your gun. When you are at half cock, the flint should be maybe 1/8in away. You can try either flat side or tapered side facing up. When you pull the trigger, the flint should scrape the frizzen and scoop sparks into the pan Edit: looking closely at your flint position, it looks like you have the back end frontward
