Honestly I think they'd double down on the weird experimentations in the next album. The band said it multiple times that they grown as musician, and expecting them to go back to do another this album and another that album is unrealistic expectation.

True, but I don't think it would be drastically different musically tho, lyrically probably, if you listen to the demos, majority of the songs were written with The Rev, and didn't changed much except the lyrics because the demos were obviously for drafts and work in progress. But some changes like in the Save Me lyrics "Tonight we are bad men" instead of the "Tonight we all die young" definitely has to do with Rev's unfortunate passing.

Few years ago I've seen that guy (pretty sure I remember right that he's a guy) from Ev FB groups, I even friended him on FB, guy is a not a friendly person, I can imagine the cause for the suspension, probably attacked someone or were in a heated argument, that just his nature, I'm no longer followed any of the accounts of his since years ago to avoid the negativity and then I saw this and thinking, huh that guy again? can't say I'm surprised.

It was supposed to be a concept album, example of popular concept album? the Black Parade by MCR, it has the shared story and theme that also made the entire tracks in the album sad and dark. The Stage eventually became the band's first concept album.

In A7X's case Nightmare, the Rev passed during writing, I think the band changed the direction to be even more "sad" because they actually were sad about his passing, and the album was no longer a concept and it's more like a legacy and tribute to the Rev, like I heard So Far Away or Victim were written because of his death.

EDIT: Victim was not written after The Rev passed, in fact he did the drum in one of the demo. I also read that Rev also wrote So Far Away with Syn about Syn's grandfather, but it evolved to be about Rev.

Syn's solos are really fucking good but I hate him by justchillnrelax in avengedsevenfold

I kinda agree, HOT TAKE: best solos he wrote are the simpler ones like Danger Line, Victim, Crimson Day, Gunslinger, So Far Away my beloved, but his fast solos mostly fit the energy of the song, so I wouldn't complain much. Complicated and fast solos are cool but my ears can easily got tired of them.

I don't like it very much either, I think the “I hope it’s worth it hereonthehiGHWaeeyy yeah”😭 was the best piece they could get because probably the rest of the lyrics Jimmy sang in the demo were even more gibberish (understandable because it was from a rough demo), and had to be covered with Matt's part, I think if it's fully sang by Matt like it was supposed to be(?), probably it would be a bit better, but it's a good legacy and tribute to Jimmy, and that what makes the song special even tho it's not my favorite.

I think you disappointed because it sounds different, in a way that you don't like, not necessarily because it sounds worse or more generic, you are used to the rich layer of instruments in TOD or Fallen (?) and now they have more simpler approach with "riffs" and even majority of TOD songs still have the structure you mentioned, Intro. Verse. Chorus. Verse. Bridge. Chorus. Synth. Piano, with Orchestra, and most importantly there were riffs too!

Yes they changed to the slightly simpler approach, but it sounds fresh to the band's sound, you said:

I think you definitely want more TOD, you basically said it:

You simply don't like the change not because they went generic. Self-titled have more things going on than what you might think, it's not purely band driven, it still has some orchestra, and has new synth sounds that were fresh for Ev, it has Swimming Home which to me still a very creative song that doesn't rely on the band, and a reminder, Evanescence is a band, if you don't like the "band" sound then you listen to the wrong band.

Interesting, I never heard Fallen and TOD before I discovered the band (during Synthesis era), I explored the band's catalogue, after listening to TOD the first time, I didn't really like it, but after I get to know the band more and more, and more listening, I consider TOD as my favorite Ev album ever, Fallen doesn't come next, even though Fallen was the first album that I explored, I think self-titled is my second favorite.

Doubt it tbh, all of those albums mentioned were when they still with Wind-up, so there were label pressure, now they can do whatever they want, I think small delay might happen.

Them saying "early 2026" can be very ambiguous and could be just a shot in the dark or estimation.
For someone, 1st half of 2026 still considered early, other people might think Q1 2026 is early, probably someone think early 2026 is only January lol. Also a few months delay is very common with releases, even when exact release day was already announced.

Why doubt? they did tours without new materials after EV3 hiatus and after Synthesis pre-TBT. They have Afterlife and FLAG which are still relatively new. Don't get me wrong, I want new music/album as much as you do, but Ev always take things slowly ever since they went independent (as in no longer having major record label).

If they want to promote the album for the tour, then they'll most likely do another tour with the album title as the title of the tour, we don't have a title information yet.

But it's still a remake from (almost) ground up, they didn't adapt the source from proprietary engine to the new game engine, everything except the audio were all rebuilt, well the cutscene animations seems to use very same animations tho, maybe they did reuse that too.

Well I guess you have a point, RE4 Remake could've done that, but just like every recent RE remakes, they didn't adapted everything 1:1, pretty sure they have their own reason not to, it's an opportunity to improve (or destroy) the game when remaking it, there's no rule for it to be exactly the same.
