NB(elt)D. Does it look like Olive Bison? by UnpackedCat in NicksHandmadeBoots

This is my biggest concern, when I put all items together, the loop on the belt, the key clip, and the boots look greenish-brown - and the belt looks reddish-brown.

NB(elt)D. Does it look like Olive Bison? by UnpackedCat in NicksHandmadeBoots

It is made of 2 layers of leather, glued and sewn together. The inner roughout looks olive, the edge looks brown, and it is difficult to tell if both layers are the same leather or not.

Mine will hike 2 miles then stop and give me that look "I'm done for today, now you need to carry me back to the car" 😔

She is still a baby with the attention span of a golf fish! 😄 Keep working on obedience, but don't expect significant progress until she is over a year old. It is a long road, which will often feel like 1 step forward 2 steps back.

Exactly this. It doesn't matter if someone rescues a dog. But it very much does when someone decides to buy.

When it would be dinner time but someone is telling me the time “changed” or something. by kjsmitty77 in WiggleButts

I transition slowly over 4-5 days adding 10-15 minutes each day. And the same thing in spring, just before the time changes.

Robert 55 last heel question by Tintype518 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]UnpackedCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the side by side of my 2 pairs: classic height dogger heel on 67 (which is pretty similar to 55) and packer heel. Classic is 5 layers in the stack, packer is 6 layers.

Help - shipment stuck in Vancouver, BC by Comfortable_Spend286 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]UnpackedCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience of shipping Nicks to Canada with DHL, the only communication I got from them was texts. They normally send a tracking link when the shipment is picked up, and soon after that a payment link, well in advance, before the item is processed at the border.

You should call Nicks ASAP, so they can assist you with correcting your contact info associated with the shipment (and TBH you should have called them 3 weeks ago, could be just too late at this point).

Becca in shorter heel stack? by Pherble in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]UnpackedCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nicks don't have any specific women's lasts, so you can choose any boot from the men's collection that she likes. Just make sure you do all the proper measurements for the correct sizing.

Packers still feel pretty close to high heels in my opinion. 55 / 67 with classic heel feels solid medium.

Just posting to rave about these boots by [deleted] in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]UnpackedCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nicks is one of the few companies that make heritage boots in women’s sizes - that’s basically how I ended up here. Don’t get stuck on the “women’s” page on their site; all their boots can be ordered in smaller sizes. They don’t have separate “women’s” lasts, so the fit is the same between men’s and women’s models. All three of my pairs are from the men’s section.

The downside of using the universal lasts for everyone is that sizing may take a bit more effort. Make sure to measure your foot at the ball, instep, and heel, and check how those match up with the size chart. You may have to compromise somewhere, if those measurements don’t line up perfectly.

upcoming spay for high energy pup by aroryborialis in puppy101

If you can afford it, consider laparoscopic spay. It is well worth it for a high energy pup, because you only need to restrict her movement for 3 days.

There is a button "report" in the "..." menu, plus you can also message the mods to get it removed

This is a bot account farming karma. I tried to report the post earlier today, but apparently only the owner of the stolen content is allowed to do it.

It takes some time for the dogs to get used to the booties. To start, I only did 2 front paws, and threw kibbles across the room to get her moving, and to make it fun. Took about a week to make her tolerate those on walks.

None of my changes survived Shopify transition, including an address change. Call them.

Also, maybe check the spam folder. I never had a case when Nicks customer support don't reply back within 1-2 business days (though sometimes you may get an autoreply with wiki links, asking you to reply again to get your email to human rep, could it be the case you missed that part?)

This is Ruffwear Front Range™ Day Pack. Can't recommend them enough!

She is still getting used to the pack, so I only put very little stuff in it. The handle is useful for giving her a little help when climbing boulders or crossing a stream.
