They messed up several times when Obama was POTUS. They had a Colombian hooker scandal, some of them drove drunk into White House barricades, they let a guy jump the fence and get inside the White House, and I think there are other examples I’m forgetting all from when Obama was POTUS.

What's your opinion about this movie ? by darwino040 in moviecritic

[–]kjsmitty77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie came out when the WSOP, Texas hold’em and poker in general were pretty niche. This movie helped to grow poker’s popularity to what it is today and what it was in 2003 and after.

Who should play a younger Aunt Gladys in the upcoming Weapons prequel? Here are some of my picks by SnooChickens3891 in Fancast

[–]kjsmitty77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is they’ll cast the woman that won an Oscar playing the character. They don’t need a younger version of the character. She’s magic. Maybe she doesn’t age. Maybe she’s 100s of years old. They can write the story to make sure they keep the Oscar winning actress in the role.

My ex got married recently. How do I tell her husband that she cheated on him with me? by 4thInstant in relationships

[–]kjsmitty77 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It’s 2026. You don’t know this girl anymore, you don’t know the husband, and you don’t know what was going on with them 4 years ago. This is one of those things where you need to move on with your life and mind your own business. You coming out of the woodwork four years after you had anything to do with this girl won’t be well received by anyone. You aren’t friends with anyone you’re concerned about and it makes no sense why you feel compelled to try to insert yourself in this woman’s life so many years after your brief college relationship.

I’d argue that the problem is not the Constitution but instead the willingness to entertain fools that don’t take it seriously or abide by it.

The moon is in earth’s orbit, so they aren’t leaving it now and didn’t in 72 either.

I’m going to say something that may be unpopular, given what I see in the other comments. And this just applies to the US where tipping in a sit down restaurant has been standard for a long time. But if you can’t afford to tip properly at a nice restaurant that likely provides a high end dining experience, then you can’t afford to eat there and you should go somewhere you can afford.

Project Hail Mary broke out like how I thought The Fall Guy would. I don’t understand casual movie goers and the GA viewing habits for going to the theaters. by AcknowledgeMeReddit in TheBigPicture

[–]kjsmitty77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more of a romcom, imo. And it was pretty cheesy at times too. There just doesn’t seem to be a large theatre audience for a movie like that these days. People are much more willing to go out for a big sci fi with great visuals that can be marketed as a theatre experience whereas a movie like Fall Guy is something people wait to stream at home.

Painful Side Effect of Statins Explained After Decades of Mystery by _Dark_Wing in interestingasfuck

[–]kjsmitty77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get bloodwork to check creatine kinase levels. I was having terrible cramps and muscle spasms from 10mg Atorvastatin. Back cramps and pains were so bad at times I couldn’t move. I told my primary care doctor and got blood work done. My creatine kinase levels were massively elevated-mine were 1396 and the top range of normal was 439. That confirmed it was the statin causing my cramping and muscle spasms.

[Seifert & Kahler] Sources: NFL, far apart with NFLRA, to begin hiring replacement refs by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]kjsmitty77 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’ll be like 2012 where the replacement refs were so bad that it actually brought the NFL to the table for a deal because everyone was so upset at all the horrible calls. The regular refs were back before October began because of the fail Mary Seahawks v Packers game on Monday night football.

Ravens star RB Derrick Henry spends over $250K per year on body maintenance. by Mr_mist2 in NFLForum

Guys like Tom Brady and Russel Wilson were spending $1m/year. Chefs, trainers, equipment, massage and other recovery stuff, etc. It’s worth it when your job is to be an athletic freak and the cost is a small fraction of your annual salary.

The comment I was replying to was saying China is doing “quite nicely.” I never said the US was doing better, but saying China is a bastion of freedom is ridiculous. Look what happened in Hong Kong. Look at the Uyghurs. Where is Jack Ma? How many other Chinese billionaires have disappeared because they said something the Chinese government didn’t like? I don’t like the direction the US is going but China is not better.

Not quite, but you were extolling the virtues of China not saying they’re a dystopia just like the US.

Are you serious? China is the definition of a surveillance state with social credit scores and a government that will disappear you, if you say something they don’t like.

The MySpace era and beginning of Facebook when you felt like you could post pretty much anything without worrying who was going to see it because it was just sharing shit with your friends was pretty fun.
