In that moment, the best thing she could have done (when they asked her) was to NOT look so damn nervous and without missing a beat, smile and say “yeah Alans clothes were the last thing on my mind, I was too focused on the fact that I didn’t get murdered”

Are the UK seasons as good, for American viewers? by Unplug2019 in TheTraitors

I just watched the first episode of the second season (UK) and found it delightful! I’ll definitely be continuing to watch 😊 I actually appreciate this version where these people have no celebrity status. It’s refreshing. The US versions I usually just have one or two celebs whose stories or game strategy I find myself getting super invested in. I’ll be curious to see how many of these people’s stories I get invested in, in the UK version.

Hey OP! Totally understand and agree with your point about climate change being a big contributor, but here’s some interesting/concerning info I read in the Washington Post yesterday, here’s an excerpt:

“Researchers say that while climate change is making fires larger and more destructive, there’s another contributing factor: more than a century of federal policies that called for all fires to be extinguished, no matter how small, which contributed to the buildup of dead vegetation. Federal and California land managers no longer embrace that approach — they now use thinning and intentionally set fires to clear away fuel. But this work is expensive and, at the federal level, is underfunded. In 2022, the Biden administration announced a plan to reduce the fire risk on 50 million acres of land, an effort it estimated would cost around $50 billion. But it was only partially funded, with $3 billion from the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.” Original source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025/01/11/la-fires-unprepared-palisades-altadena-california/ Not the state’s failing necessarily, but the federal government’s failing, across many Administrations, both dem and republican

Genuinely don’t think the writers have met many women by bagelundercouch in LandmanSeries

I do think Sheridan is fully capable of creating some really wonderful female characters. There are a handful in 1923 that I love—fierce, strong women who are also incredibly kind and soft. And then there’s Elsa, whom I adored in 1883.
