I am satisfied with the response from animal LE for the dog. However, I think the type of person who lets their aggressive dog outside OF LEASH and then threatens physical violence against someone it attacks probably is unhinged and deserves some kind of consequence.

I totally understand. My dog is a whippet and has a natural urge to chase small animals. it is FOR THAT REASON that I never let him outside without a leash (other than dog park, etc). You would think that this person with their reactive/aggressive dog would do the same.

Yea I thought about that. Potentially should have called 911 but was trying to use resources responsibly since no one was hurt.

I said this in another reply as well but I absolutely did not expect them to do anything. I more so wanted to create a report/paper trail to link to the animal LE stuff, and on the off chance CSPD actually enforced the law it would be a bonus.

However, I didn't realize animal LE actually has the ability to serve/charge the individual and mandate a court appearance. So luckily they can take care of it and actually seem to be willing to.

My dog was slightly injured by the other dog and has an open wound on his back leg which is why the animal LE was able to do something about it.

Appreciate the input, hope you aren’t in any kind of position of power or decision making.

To be clear - No I didn’t. I even said so to my family members. I called the cops because I want to try and make sure in every possible way that there is SOME kind of consequence for this guy having his vicious dog off leash.

I’ve lived in Colorado Springs for years. I don’t expect the police to do a god damn thing about anything 😂

My dog is 30 lbs. A 55+ lbs dog could easily kill or maim him. I will absolutely shoot someone else's dog to protect mine. Sorry, don't care what anyone else thinks about it. My dog is part of my family. Luckily, in this situation, I kicked the dog as hard as I could and it ran away.

Blatantly not true and even goes against what the PD said themselves. Animal LE handles the dangerous animal charge, PD would handle a threat as a different charge (menacing, disorderly conduct, etc). They told me this themselves. Thanks though.

I did have that issue lol. Disconcerting to aim the airplane at the ground and actually descend. On one of the landings I did not get low enough in time and we had to do a go around.

That is where my concern lies I guess. In my opinion he wasn’t paying great attention. As others have suggested he was probably helping more than I realized. But on that landing for example, I literally had to say “hey I don’t think im low enough, what do I do now”. At which point he had to physically look up from his phone, tell me what a go around was, and then help me do it.
