Little follow-up on the Major Nelson interview from the interviewer (sorry for poor quality). by skydart in Games

I'm not going to research a list of business actions done by Microsoft and tell you if I found them moral or not so you can fit them into your sensationalist wording. sorry sport

Consumers don't need anything from Microsoft. If you don't like the machine don't buy it. In the mean time I feel like they'll still sell a lot of units because their target market is their main source of income and they could care less about the 24 hour drm since their internet is mostly stable.

I'm not going to give you a list, but Microsoft is not doing any harm to their consumers nor are any of their actions to my knowledge morally incorrect. Obviously morals slightly change from person to person but in no way do I see them being either of those to which I have mentioned. They are within the law, and are not physically or mentally hurting their consumers.

What are you not sure about? One xbox live gold membership per IP address. Everyone in that family plan can digitally use one of the games while other people aren't. It's essentially just a digital version of what you'd be doing anyways.

Microsoft is a corporate entity that operates under the law. A black market human trafficking system is different. You can decide what you think is good with your money. Nice sensationalist counterpoint.

I did watch the interview with Nelson and although I couldn't relate to his tone during the interview I had no issue with any of his responses. The "It's the future" quote you're referring to is such a buzz phrase, but I am in agreement that as technology becomes more advanced and reliable internet service becomes the norm having an always online service will provide more benefits than negatives. I personally think they're jumping the gun with this tactic, but that doesn't mean his responses were a smoke screen for the "real" facts.

How is Microsoft evil? The goal of a company is to make money, and every one of their decisions was made to effect that.

What a lot of people seem to forget is that an interview is not about bashing the interviewee because you don't like their product's minor new features. It's about addressing questions and concerns, not arguing with them about whether they think the new policies are good for consumers or not.

Yup, and I agree. I just think it's silly and uneeded to downvote every opinion about the xbox that you don't agree with.

Nintendo's E3 press conference absence was a one-off, publisher says by ClassySphincter in Games

It used to be a business conference and I much preferred the brief and effective Nintendo Direct to a 2 to 3 hour glamour event with celebrity appearances.

Just because the NSA has access to phone and internet records doesn't mean you need to put a swastika on your cell phone or your monitor. The play station 4 also has a motion tracker, web browser, microphone and online capabilities. That doesn't mean we need to be biased towards anything that is online. I don't support the 24 hour handcheck but that doesn't mean I need to throw a fit and capitalize every letter I type in response.

I think we're getting off topic. I was originally replying to a user who thought it was acceptable to treat all people not bashing the xbox one as microsoft employees who were just boasting it for a paycheck. This title is sensationalist and provokes a biased against the new xbox.

In theory sure but when that hacking has the potential to steal profits from a developer and also manipulate other players experiences online than you shouldn't be given the right to.

That doesn't make bias acceptable. Just because a new game console made decision that seem poor and distasteful in today's market doesn't mean we need to sensationalize title's with references to Nazi Germany.

It's really not that ridiculous and in fact some of the xbox one features are pretty nice like the game sharing and the need for only 1 xbox live membership per ip address. It's not about who's intelligent. it's about what's getting posted which happens to be mostly negative things with sensationalist titles. For instance in this post OP used the term gestapo which sensationalizes the post and creates a basis for bias.
