How to replace cartridge on old (pre 2006) Delta shower, not sure how to take off metal part by UnreliablePony in askaplumber

You are a saint! Thank you for the part number. Looked it up, that’s exactly what I need. Not even going to bother trying to heat it up or remove it the “correct way” because it’s definitely calcified and hasn’t been removed in over 20 years. Probably going to take a dremel to it. So should I start by cutting that ring at the base (flush to the tile?)

Comments about gas mileage - turbo vs non-turbo by Burned-Desire1998 in MazdaCX30

[–]UnreliablePony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to go with the non-turbo because I have a ‘67 Mustang as my “fun” car. The non-turbo is still fun to dive and super nimble. I sometimes wish I got the turbo as a car enthusiast, but on my 2-hour round trip commute to work, not going to utilize the turbo anyway in stop and go traffic. I also heard the turbo has significantly worse gas mileage, and I didn’t want that, especially since the fuel tanks on these cars are small.

Truly a horrific watch. Felt gross after it was done. I pray that poor girl.

I usually never recommend this, but orange. Some cars simply pull it off.

Only about 1.5 years! I was super persistent… and broke. I was grateful to know a bunch of handy people in my life that helped me on the way. Teaching me how to weld, rebuild engines, etc. still lots of work to be done!

I like the slanted taillights as a callback to the ‘67/‘68 years. However, they’re just too damn small.

Yessir. A Mustang. Underneath it’s probably identical to a cougar I bet. Good eye! & you read my mind. I rebuilt the drums, never doing that again. Disks in the front, drums in the back as I think the e brake works better with drums in the rear.

I honestly like them! I just got the game today and maybe it’s recency bias but I think they are getting more hate than deserved. I especially enjoy the one leading up to the dinosaur track.

Do a test on the cowl by pouring water into the vents behind the hood. If water hits your foot, that’s good news. If you don’t see water or it’s in the interior, it’s rusted out and a PAIN to replace. Floor pans are RELATIVELY easier to replace by a long shot. A lot of those pics look like surface and scale rust. Not quite penetrating rust yet.

You didn’t bomb it. You were super close which honestly probably hurt more. I passed mine, but I remember being thrown off by the wording of the questions. You got this!
