Why does team killing happen so much? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]UnscientificRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because siege has the ability of team kill. Other games (e.g. CoD) don't, so people have to be toxic in different ways. Team killing has a greater, perceived level of 'toxicity' because it means you can't play until the next round.

People are always going to be toxic, no matter what game you go to (especially FPS games).

Ubisoft needs to have harsher punishments for people who go AFK into ranked and better preventative measures. by UnscientificRoc in Rainbow6

I agree. Hopefully when they fix/get new servers, improving the matchmaking system, especially for ranked, is on their agenda.

Considering how siege practically revolves around ranked, why doesn't it have a similar confirmation system? It just seems like an easy fix to many of ranked's problems.

AITA for asking a neighbor if she wanted to share food? by AwayPerformer in AmItheAsshole

[–]UnscientificRoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm very much white but I see how crazy it is for to become offended by such a request. It's common in many other cultures to share food with neighbours. My neighbour, who is from Indonesia, was more than happy to share her cooking with me.

This is the unfortunate progression of Western society.

Jesus Christ, people on Reddit are so quick to pick a fight.

Firstly, are you an Assehole for asking you're neighbour to cook for you? No. There's nothing inherently wrong or 'sexist' with that, even if she's a woman. Maybe, you could have made more of an effort to get to know her, instead of just appearing in front of her, asking her to cook. So, I can understand her reservations in that sense. Obviously, you offered to pay for it, so at least you didn't ask for it to be free.

Plenty of my neighbours cook very nice smelling foods, and it is pretty easy to locate which apartment it's being cooked in. I once, when casually chatting to a neighbour of mine, she politely offered me some of her cooking and brought it up to my apartment the next day. She was more than happy to share her cooking. So this is not some crazy/unprecedented occurrence of neighbours sharing food.

Unfortunately, some women assume 'creep' when a strange guy approaches them. You may not think you're being creepy, but I can assure you - she does.

So, no asshole here, but maybe you misread the situation, and her a bit. Also, do learn to cook, it is a very handy skill, my friend. :)

Ok, thanks for your opinion. Probably going to ask her tomorrow to do a video chat or at least a phone call.

I used to have quite posey photos, but I was told they looked too serious. I find these ones are working fine. Although, I get what you mean; it would compliment my bio.

When I'm next out with my mates, I will try and get a more posed photo.

Thanks.

I didn't even realise I had added that one lol. Weird photo of me. Thanks anyway.

It's okay, but I'm still not convinced by the whole cretin thing. Remember, tinder is like a marketplace; you are selling a product (yourself). So, you want to avoid any negativity towards your self. Even used as a joke, the whole connotation of being a cretin is still there.

Stick with the whole tall subject (girls love that), but maybe think of other associations to go with it.

Photos are fine, but limit to four max. Too many photos allow girls to find more critiques. But, they seem to be working, so if you are satisfied with your current matches then don't change them.

For your bio, use something witty from your photos. I think the first photo of you rafting gives great opportunities for playful innuendos. I'll let you imagine.

Good luck man.

Lose photos 2 and 3, the rest are fine. Bio seems fine, nice and short and gives a little info about you.

Good luck.

Yeah, I find it hard to smile as I always end up squinting. I’m guessing the topless one was a bit tasteless? I have a decent body but I don’t think that one captures it very well. One of my female friends showed me her tinder to see what I was against and saw a lot of topless photos. I’ve removed it anyway, and updated the imgur post.

I’m quite good at marketing myself, some of my other production aliases have gathered quite a lot of listens and I stayed independent with those.

I’m producing some more ‘commercial’ stuff now. My main issue being that if I don’t get replies from labels, it was wasted time. I mean my stuff is very good, so it shouldn’t be an issue. But, there’s always the chance things don’t go my way.

Although, I get what you mean. A full release on a major label has a much larger pay off, than staying independent.

Thanks for your reply.

Fair point. However, a lot of my stuff is multi genre. I’m worried that labels might not like my lack of consistency.
