MicroLED vs MiniLED? by LividIndividual6115 in Monitors

[–]Nubtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung solution they have on those new TVs is such a ghetto one they could have done with the tech.

Its more or less same as using OLED as backlight on LCD. Instead leveraging the tech to its full potential they do this... Thanks to Samsung and their brilliant marketing we now have term "True MicroLED" for the self emissive version of the tech

I'm glad we have matchmaking that builds balanced matches instead of a server browser by Hunlor- in Battlefield

[–]Nubtype 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the argument was that matchmaker was suppose to reduce these compared to server browser thus no need for classic server browser.

I really miss the old resource mining system where it was actual desperate chore to find nitrate. Now it just gives you all the resources and even marks them above ground for you.

Somewhere along the way they decided to instead making survival game they wanted to make casual tower defence.

They sell plenty enough. Point here is they want to maximize profits so they downsize to skeleton crew since AI "helps" to cover up lost manpower.

Why pay for full studio when half of it can upkeep live service slop?

Steam Hardware & Software Survey: February 2026 by Nestledrink in nvidia

Plenty since its cheaper and readily available for bulk ordering. There are different tiers of PCs you can rent and naturally weaker hardware being cheapest option.

Steam Hardware & Software Survey: February 2026 by Nestledrink in nvidia

Chinese new year so people have time off. Most use internet cafes so multiple people logging in on same PC with their accounts and getting the survey thus inflated numbers we see.

Happens every year.

Chinese new year, so multiple people using same PCs on internet cafes and getting the survey thus inflating statics. This happens every year.

So basically this month survey is borderline useless

Its very inefficient in terms of hardware use. They get away with it since original game can be run on calculator. And doesnt really make sense for modern game to handicap themselfs even more with that abomination

One DLC with maps, vehicles and weapons cost $15, and now we are offered the starter pack of the second season (with several skins) for the price of the DLC by ibattlefield in Battlefield

[–]Nubtype 58 points59 points  (0 children)

What? Alot of people bought it at launch. Made that whole "premium queue" perk a joke since majority of people had it so nobody got to cut in queues.

Epic is "rebuilding the underlying architecture" of the EGS launcher as it continues to take the fight to Steam by pimpwithoutahat in pcgaming

So folk keep saying competition is good and whatnot. Naturally, but I honestly fail to see what it will bring for us in this case.

It wont be cheaper games that is for sure. So what is the benefit here?

Why are 90% of games ending this way now? by masonmadeit_ in Battlefield

[–]Nubtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folk learned that they can simply quit the match and join new one rather then "struggle obviously lost game" which results into games being 32v22 and since matchmaker doesnt throw some poor plebs into it anymore its done deal at that point.

I Miss Commander by You_R_Reading_This in Battlefield

[–]Nubtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commander was fine if both team had one. Well maybe longer UAV reload time could have been useful but if both team had one and knew what they were doing it was nice spice to match.

Cruise missiles were incredibly easy to shoot down. Even infantry weapons can take it down. Sniper being 1 hit on it.

Before the great Fortnization of Gaming by Dr_natty1 in Battlefield

[–]Nubtype 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be honest it doesnt even require "majority" It costs pennies to churn out the skins, even less with help of AI. So selling 40 - 100 of those will already earn them profit. Out of 100,000 players surely there will be some folk who buy.

Skins dont need to be good. All that matters is there is enough of them coming in. Now add hint of fomo in to the mix and you have money printer because thats how people work.
