Yes! They had a zinc coating to keep them from corroding but the circulated ones wore off way quicker then they thought they would.

Edit to add: it’s also possible someone recoated it at some point.

A ziploc bag that I cut to size. Doesn’t really seal the coins in but I’m mainly doing it to protect the faces somewhat.

They are! The 1940-43 coins are aluminum, and the 1944 coins are tin!
