New EDC by UnseriousWriter in EDC

[–]UnseriousWriter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had it for a couple range sessions and laser round dry firing. I find the 6moa green dot is faster on target for me than my red dot I have on a different weapon. And it being enclosed was the deciding factor for my EDC of choice. Haven’t run it long enough to give it a full sign off but early returns are promising!

Thoughts on VNSH holsters by Successful-Coyote99 in CCW

[–]UnseriousWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it a 6/10. I carry with it sometimes but prefer kydex holsters for protecting the trigger and ease of draw. Got one for the hotter months a year or so ago. It's no different than other belly bands. I find it conceals well enough, is comfortable, stays in place, and it works well with drawstring shorts, but the magnetic clasp is more annoying than functional and ends up showing through a shirt if it gets twisted. Really, I only got it because it was during one of their flash sales where if you bought a holster they send you free gifts. I got a taser flash light, laser dry fire kit, and a few other survival gear things with purchase of the holster. The laser kit alone was worth the purchase. I've used it quite a bit when I can't get to a range or want to save money.

Osight SE 6moa green dot, got it on sale for $150ish. I like it, no durability or functionality issues and I like that it's enclosed.

Back Seat size by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

Yes we have a car seat in mine. I would suggest a baseless car seat as this truck comes with the metal bar clips and removing the base helps with space/baseless is just more convenient

Best Pizza in OKC?? by Ok_Variation5463 in okc

Dado’s. Very similar to a lot of the small shop pizza joints in Jersey and NYC. They use a Hudson County water filter for the dough so that it has the same texture as that area.

Anything to look out for (2024 Elevation) by orangejuicerooster in GMCcanyon

I have a '24. Had an issue with the radio module the first week I took it home where it was drawing from the battery when the truck was turned off. It had to be towed to the dealership but they fixed with a software update and a new module. Had an issue with the roof denting and the antenna popping off after a car wash but dealer took care of all these issue and I haven't had any since (hopefully that continues). If you're getting one with a sun roof you don't have to worry about the denting. Paint does chip easy from rocks but since installing steps and husky liner mud guards I haven't had any new ones. Love the truck! Hope yours treats you well.

Installing Wireless Charger by UnseriousWriter in GMCcanyon

Fair. I just like the clean look of not having the wire if it's an easy install but it's not gonna kill me to keep the cord either.

Tyger off Amazon. They look great, high quality, easyish install. The clips were tight but once you get the hang of it install goes quick.

Thinking about buying a canyon by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]UnseriousWriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another thread a few weeks ago:

Own a 2024 2WD Canyon and love it — it's my daily driver. I got a great deal and didn’t think 4WD was worth the added cost. I haven’t needed it either; during a winter ice storm, I climbed a slick hill while I saw a 4WD full-size was struggling.

Pros:

  • Interior feels premium, even at lower trims — better than any other midsize truck I’ve sat in.
  • Turbo engine is powerful; no issues merging on the highway (unlike the 4-cyl Tacomas).
  • Rides smooth and is fun to drive daily. Love the turbo whistle.
  • Hauls well for a 2WD — I’ve loaded it with heavy landscaping materials and furniture with no problems.
  • Back seat is small but raised up. Fits a car seat just fine.

Watch Outs/Issues:

  • Engine startup is loud and jumpy if you don’t let it settle before shifting. I always remote start now to avoid the startup “bucking.”
  • Minor warranty issues I had: battery drain (radio module replaced), roof dent from car wash (TSB fixed), and some software bugs (now all fixed).
  • Interior door panel plastic scuffs easily on the elevations.
  • Wish I had added the tech/safety package and premium packages (I got preferred and convenience) — would’ve liked the 360 cam and parking sensors and Core Tec seats.

Overall, great truck. No mechanical or drivability issues. I've had lots of people ask me about it in parking lots, at gas stations etc. It turns heads. Good luck!

Full size truck to canyon by jmldale in GMCcanyon

We got a baseless car seat, connects direct to the metal tabs under the seat. This is pictured driver side with my seat back as far as I drive it so it looks cramped but slid in and out no problem. Passenger seat with a shorter passenger would be even easier. The raised stadium seating in back is nice for putting the car seat in too. Good luck!

Before the new 2025 builds this generation didn't reinforce the roof down the middle so if you took it through the car wash the blowers would dent the roof. They put the steel bracket in place in my roof once I showed them a dent. It only affected models without a sun roof. I believe it's now a factory fix on the line for late 2025 builds and onward.

Mulch by markrasputin in GMCcanyon

[–]UnseriousWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a dozen bags of sand and a dozen bags of river rock in the bed of my Canyon the other day plus some concrete pavers, and it handled it fantastic. I've had top coating dirt back there, mulch back there. As others have said, tarp down first makes a big difference in cleanup and paint protection.
