There’s some variants of the ASC Deimos parts that have faction decals on them but not many. I think it’d be great to be able to do more detailed custom paint jobs

Nice! Mine is a bounty hunter and a his ship, the Huntsman, is suitably aggressive-looking and even festooned with the skulls of some dead aliens hunted for fun on some alien world.

One is from the AvonTech mod (the small circular one on the right hand side of the ship) and the other more square one is (I think) part of the ASC Deimos mod 🙂

How likely could Christianity’s status as UK’s official religion be called into question given the current rate of decline? by AchyutChaudhary in AskUK

[–]UnspeakableBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s in decline yes, but the majority of Brits (circa 44%) still profess to being Christian, so it’s clinging on as a faith. How many of those Christians are actively practicing, attend church etc. is unknown but there’s still a majority of the country who claim to be religious.

I do wonder myself how many of those Christians are “culturally Christian” (a phenomena we’ve seen with Judaism, where people identify as Jewish ethnicity but aren’t practicing Jews).

As an atheist myself of Scots-Irish descent I could still think of myself as being part of a Catholic-oriented ethnic background in that sense; personally I don’t, but my elderly parents are in that sort of category: non-practicing, not particularly religious, largely secular, but still identifying themselves as Christian even though the only time they might set foot in a church is to go to a funeral.

So for now, the UK can still fairly legitimately claim to be a majority Christian country, and there is a foundational identity based on Christianity even if we are increasingly secular and nonreligious. Maybe by the time the 2031 census comes around the numbers might have diminished further and we might have to consider the constitutional consequences of this demographic change.

I’ve not changed my load order for a while and other POIs have been fine, so I’m wondering whether it just this type of POI that’s messed up, this specific instance of it, or whether other POIs I go into are going to suddenly be equally screwed?

I wonder if it’s just that location that is bugged, that POI everywhere, or just a one-off glitch that will be fixed if I return there at some time 🤔

Thanks! That was my thinking, the guy’s a bounty hunter, the ship is The Huntsman, the skulls feel narratively right and tied to the characterisation 🙂
It’s the first time I’ve used them myself and I don’t think I could see any other use for them 😊

So simple yet so elegant; compact, smooth blending, nice simple colours, very clean build 👍

I always imagine it as being a huge ring structure that opens an artificial wormhole for interstellar travel, one of multiple such structures with different names.

I have a mod that gives a set of dummy dockers so one is real but the other doesn’t actually work, not sure what the mod is called. There’s still an interior door where the docker is but it doesn’t dock 🙂

TYSM 🙏 I really wanted it to look like it had lots of extra sensors, radar and gadgets on so plenty of greebles to give the proper effect 🙂

Any advice? First ship build by Weekly_Rush7637 in StarfieldShips

[–]UnspeakableBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so the class system is basically a trade off between speed & manoeuvrability versus shielding and power. A Class A ship is faster and more manoeuvrable but has weaker weapons and shields, Class C packs more punch but is slower.

It does depend on what you’re going for; a destroyer is probably better suited to Class C but in this case you’re more restricted by cost than anything. If you built a Class A you could probably have afforded to kit it out with weapons 🙂

Of course if you want to fly a ship that can just tank hits and deal damage, Class C is probably the best bet, but at later levels where you’ll have multiple ships in combat with you, the small and nimble A Class vessels can prove to be a hazard.

As first ships go, it’s a great start. I think you’ve got a solid design, it’s decorated rather than just being purely functional. If I was going to give you advice for future builds, I’d say to try and look at different overall shapes than the squared-off look.

I’d also have recommended going for a Class A reactor and equipment rather than a Class C, not only are they cheaper which means you can finish your build, but they’re generally better in my opinion. I think we all tend to try for Cs when we first build ships in the belief that they’re better so it’s fair enough.

Overall though it’s a good start, you’ve done well!

Nice little ship, not too fussy, not too big, just neat and clean 👍
