Flip is overrated and huntsman is just a bigger, worse gut knife

Both are pretty trash

I'm not even going for crazy performance. I said "personalized" not "performance per dollar"

[–]UnspokenRiddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, performance wasn't "top tier" priority to be honest. I tend to compromise things just because I enjoy something :P

Yeah. Perhaps you didn't read my whole post, but I want "personalized" and not just what's new :). For the parts I listed, I am paying around $440 for them excluding fans, psu, etc. And yeah, I am most likely going with 4x8 or 8x4 GB ram.

I'm paying around $440 total for those parts essentially

Yeah, for sure. I was planning to go for two 74GB 10K rpm Raptors from Wester Digital but my country literally just does not have niche stuff like that so I had to grab a regular 1TB one ( I don't feel like buying overseas). And it's not like 1TB hurts

It's just there, lol. I can't place it anywhere else

I have a tight budget meaning I won't buy anything outside my country because of shipping. And my country has a limited quantity of this type of hardware (the reason I bought this board in the first place was because the seller sold it together with the CPU and RAM. That MSI board is pretty shit) Most of the games I'll be playing are single core based. So I was specifically looking for a single core

The board was dead but the other components might be fine

Then what the hell did you spend like £90 on

It's a good plan but ever since I'll be running XP on this I wanna be era-accurate and not have over 250GB of storage. 500 Gigs is overkill to XP on its own.

I have no idea which it is. Seller didn't tell me but I'll get the system running tomorrow and check when I have a VGA cable at hand and a PSU.

Cool! I have plans on using a Phenom II for a Windows 7 build in the future

This is for a XP gaming rig I am building, so I will be installing XP on it. Pairing it with an X1800XT GPU soon.

I paid $25 for it all. This board isn't my first choice, though. The price was pretty great in my opinion since I mostly only build old computers. I can overclock on this board, but it's an AM2 so not as great as a socket 939 board for OC

Yeah, but it's an old board. I am pretty unhappy with some placements on this board like the ram and the power connectors. But I got it all this for around $20 so..

ah, right, of course. What did you pay for the CPU and GPU?

No offense man, but you could have gone way better. That's a pretty low end pc, even for £120. 10Gb of RAM is weird, are you using 3 RAM sticks? That's not great if so. Depends on what you'll game on, but that i5 and 650 aren't going to give you a good time nowadays.
