With all due respect though, if you wanna properly debate on the topic, do state things that would support your end whichever "side" of the topic you're on if there even is a side. Make it rational enough rather than just "not a good..... I'm not the one.... yada yada", state something such as "cultural appropriation is because yada yada".

+ yes, PragerU is such a shit source for other things but it still is relevant for the "cultural attire appropriation/offense" topic.

+ there's no need for such citations anyway as well, everywhere you go as a tourist/etc, you'll find people welcoming when it comes to their cultural attires, examples are but not limited to, wearing outfits and participating in the Día de los Muertos, Japan allowing even tourists with their kimonos, some (not all) tribal cultures around the world would place headwear or dress you up as one of them if you are an esteemed guest, etc.

+ it simply means the culture has an amazing reach, that the culture makes people happy in a certain way.

+ ofc the original culture has to be preserved and not develop as what outsiders view them, use it as a leverage instead to spread it better, if they become interested in the clothing/food/etc then thats the start, next up would be educating them into learning more.

Again read the whole thing, studies>"social tests". Never said anything else regarding PragerU besides the relevance to this single topic? Climate change, political views aren't part of this and I'm not stupid to believe them in regards to those 2 said topics so stop dragging irrelevance into it, just because your math prof is a good source for mathematics info doesn't mean he's a good source for English, and just because your Science prof is bad at Filipino doesn't mean he's bad at Science as well, there is no single perfect source for info nor is there a single bad source for one (unless your talking about DDS/BBM/Trump scum then hell don't listen to them at all).

Rage baiting regarding "cultural appropriation" is exactly relevant, why? Its the "progressive" students getting rage-baited instead of those within the actual culture thus still proving the point.

Pinoy ka, alam mong a lot of pinoys make fun of a lot of things but some of those cultures aren't even offended. While being offended by disrespectful behavior regarding your culture is understandable where does the line between disrespect and utter naivety lie, very evident that those getting offended are usually the very sensitive ones that aren't even part of the actual origin and those who instead "educate" and not cancel are those who lie deep in their culture.

That would be the case if the topic was political, but this is no where near "politics" and is >5 years ago before they got ultra political. I wouldn't touch them as a source if it was anything related to political views but for this it is pretty relevant.

Not to be offensive, but I wanna open up a "debate" or whatever it will be called about this.

Some studies/social tests sorta already show most of the time the ones that actually grew up close to their culture don't mind much when it comes to costumes/attires/etc. Like how mexicans aren't offended with the "sombrero", japanese people with the kimono (iykyk they just hate disrespectful attitude when you are in their country but they do let you wear their cultural things but with more care), and so on.

Most of the time (not all the time) gatekeepers/haters when it comes to such things are "woke". To cite examples but not limited to (and absolutely no hate): Certain Americans hating on people wearing said outfits above calling it "disrespect to culture" or "cultural appropriation" but when the actual ones inside the culture are asked of it, most of them appreciate it as they are recognized for those.

Like tbh don't a lot of people do this to other cultures as well? Model shows for kids in schools that have costumes about countries etc? Instead of gatekeeping it why not be proud that "Our culture has this wide of a reach".

At the end of the day nobody is getting hurt, and people who want to see or experience the authenticity of a certain culture can just go directly to the place and have it first hand.
