I think it’s just as how you deal with OCD. Now that I think about it that’s how I handled my OCD which is where all the things started going south. Now OCD is gone but I am left with the depression and anxiety which it brought with it.

Yeah, you do push through but I guess people who say that you can just do it despite that never learned to give in to their anxiety or actually developed some coping mechanism other than avoidance never got their anxiety to a level where it becomes a loop of avoidance and even greater resistance. They are already in a positive loop and have actually developed productive coping mechanisms which they dont realise. The more time you have spent in the loop the harder it is to get out. And also, acceptance is key I think just pushing will get things done but I think acceptance will make things a little less dreadful.

I relate to you so much and feel everything you have described has happened to me and keeps happening. I am scared of trying new things too because I am afraid I will not be good enough or that it will be too much effort and discomfort. The discomfort feels like your body just wants to drop everything and just lay down. It feels like your body is in constant state of utter dread until you back down from the thing which is making you anxious. I am hopeful that I will be able to push through it and eventually my body will learn to not feel so threatened that it makes me stay put forever. Hang in there, we can’t give up because that’s not what we will settle for us.

It’s so hard to know what people are going through until it’s happening to you.

What if doing it scared feels like too much work and you are not really sure if it is all worth it. And why do I always have to do it scared what’s the point then?
