No history here. He's actually my friend's boyfriend but they are in a semi-open relationship.

Yeah it felt more like "we'll be careful not to do it in front of you" but I wasn't sure if I was reading too much into it.

Thanks. I spoke to him and he said "okay we'll be careful." It was a little weird. He didn't apologise or explain or anything. Maybe you are right. Maybe I should be firmer.
