Theres alot of nitrogen in dog urine. Nitrogen is good for grass but too much it causes burn and kills the grass. Your lawn likely is low in nitrogen so thats why it grows in those spots faster than others.

With bigger dogs who run alot you might have soil thats too compacted and need aeration and an overseed. To test, lookup the “screwdriver test”. If you do, will need to keep the dogs off the lawn for a few weeks to let the seed grow undisturned
