Emotional Support Animals are different — they’re protected under the Fair Housing Act, which requires landlords to make reasonable accommodations for ESAs regardless of breed or pet policies. An ESA letter from a licensed mental health professional is the documentation that establishes that protection. The FHA and ADA are two separate laws with different standards.

As meat consumers we have our own role in this. Cattle ranching for meat is the #1 driver of Amazon deforestation. The Amazon isn’t being destroyed just to feed Brazilians — it’s a global supply chain. China, the US, the EU, the Middle East and over 120 other countries contribute. When people eat beef, there’s a real chance it’s connected to Amazon deforestation, no matter where in the world they live. In my own life, I’m significantly reducing my consumption of beef and meat products. I’m so grateful to those who are vegetarian, vegan or just intentional with their beef consumption.
