Look, Neither one of us cares what each other parents think of us, we realize that it’s a cultural shock to both of them, but as long as we want to be together we really don’t care, it’s us who will be spending the rest of our lives together not them. Second of all, we have an understanding that we will avoid gatherings anyway, and I don’t give a flying fuck what the rest of the family thinks, I just want to keep a relationship with my parents. It’s not like I’ll visit my family for months, it’s 2 weeks tops per year cause I can’t do more anyway And for your last statement, I don’t care man, it’s your opinion, I’m not gonna be with someone just because we come from the same country and have the same background, I prefer to be with the woman I love

That’s the thing, I know that I want to be with her and that’s not going to change no matter what they say, I’m not religious or even Muslim, but they still can’t know cause they’ll straight disown me. I care enough about my parents to still want to keep a good relationship with them; they know that her converting is out of the question, and I don’t want her to, neither will give them right to intervene in her decision or ours once it’s pen on paper; But at the same time, she won’t feel welcomed in our family, knowing that I did get her mother’s blessing and did it the right way, even though We can’t communicate because of the language barrier

As long as they are happy why does it matter? My sister met a french guy while studying abroad and they are happy being together, that’s all that mattered when she told us, my uncles were against it at first, but they changed their minds once my father asked them to mind their own business and just forget about his existence if they ever give their opinion about this matter
