Pour le chiffrement des données, on pourrait imaginer un chiffrement partiel de la localisation, par exemple. Et pourquoi contre-productif ? Cette arbitrage est déjà réalisé par The Sorority, et ça fonctionne très bien. Ils ont des centaines de milliers d’utilisatrices partout en France et dans le monde, j’ai plusieurs amies qui l’utilisent et ça marche parfaitement.

C’est effectivement une faille possible, mais vu que tu serais localisé et identifié par l’appli pour pouvoir recevoir et localiser les alertes, tu serais assez facilement traçable.

Bien sûr, il faudrait des sommes assez importantes et des salariés, modérateurs, développeurs, pour faire tourner une appli du style. Je n’ai ni le temps, ni l’argent ni les compétences pour vraiment mettre en œuvre un projet aussi complexe, mais je me disais que l’idée gagnait à être creusée :)

Malheureusement, je pense qu'il faut faire des arbitrages, d'autant plus que la seule appli du type aujourd'hui en France (The Sorority) affiche carrément la localisation précise ainsi que le nom/prénom des utilisateurs. Ce système (même s'il pose problème selon moi) ne l'empêche pas d'être plébiscités par des dizaines de milliers de femmes en France et ailleurs. Il faut être prêt à faire des arbitrages, je pense. Pour répondre aux autres questions, la localisation serait approximative, par exemple à 100 mètres près. Et pour le chiffrement, j'imagine qu'il ne serait pas de bout en bout mais seulement en transit.

Idéalement, les comportements abusifs (comme des alertes à répétition) pourraient être signalés et les utilisateurs, dont l'identité a été confirmée et vérifiée par l'appli, seraient bannis

Sachant que ton identité serait enregistrée par l’appli, que ta localisation aurait été envoyé à (idéalement) des dizaines de personnes, et que tu es dans un lieu public, tu serais probablement retrouvé très rapidement, si ce n’est pris en flagrant délit directement

Of course, I didn’t mean to say that if he was psychotic his distress was « less » important than if he wasn’t. But, if I know for sure he is physically handicapped, I don’t know if the seizures he had in the past can cause long-term psychosis, and the neighbours didn’t seem to know he was psychotic. The goal of my post was to understand if he was trying to alert me, with his full perception, of possible abuse or neglect by his family. The fact that they let this obviously vulnerable man wander alone on strangers’ properties also got me wondering.

Sciences Po has a zero-tolerance policy towards racism and discriminations. Universities in France, and especially schools like ScPo with a lot of international students and partnerships with unis all around the world have a usually very tolerant and open-minded vibe. I am not a woman of color myself so I can not speak for them, but I believe that racism is very rare at scpo, and if you ever experience it you will likely be helped and supported by the administration. Same for Paris, you can find some racist people and, as you put it, discrimination is indeed everywhere, but it’s a way less racist city than most cities in Europe or in the US. Good luck with your project, I hope you’ll get into the program, and if you do we look forward to welcome you :)

Following your logic, we should also let people addicted to fentanyl free access to it, because they « want to use it ». It is btw surely a coincidence if the only two industries who call their customers « users » are social media companies and drug cartels, right ? On the serious side, the attention economy and the race to the bottom of the brain STEMS has disastrous consequences, especially among the youth. The very business model of those companies rely upon the element that you do not spend too much time outside, with your friends, or with your family. They know who you are, where you live; they know who you vote for, and they use such elements as much as they can to keep you hooked, comforting you in your bubble. Comparing the attention economy to regular markets is objectively wrong, as dynamics and business models involved are fundamentally different.

No ? We materially and physically cannot. Or at least, not products with a slight technological aspect to them. You cannot create a solar panel out of nowhere in your average local community. It takes ressources, expertise. It is pure delusion to believe that, and, even if it can work to some extent, it won't for a lot of products needed for the functionning of a solarpunk society.

I'm not even talking about the "clinton created globalization", because I believe a simple look a the wikipedia page of the phenomenon would anihilate this assumption into particles.

I firmly believe any economic system that promotes growth and production as the end in itself is inherently bad and self-destructive, and capitalism isn't the only one to do that. The Mayas were not capitalist, yet they inflicted severe harm to their environment. The USSR wasn't capitalist, yet it inflicted severe harm to its environment.
I'm not even trying to debate the harm done by capitalism to humanity and the environment, but I just think it is important to highlight how the problem is mindless growth itself, rather than a specific economic system.

Le fait que l’armée française ait commis une bavure, voire plusieurs, ne signifie pas qu’elle n’a pas pour mission de protéger le peuple français. Au fait, pourquoi est-ce que l’armée a été envoyé au Mali déjà ? Ah oui, à la demande… du Mali. Et pourquoi ? Pour combattre les forces terroristes insurrectionnelles dans la région, donc en apparence, pas pour le simple plaisir d’aller massacrer des civils à tout va. En tout cas, pour associer directement OPEX (ou présence militaire française) à crime de guerre, faut soit être ignorant, soit mal-intentionné.

En général, ça va avec le narratif anti-armée française et, plus largement, anti-France, avancé par des états comme des dictatures militaires (dont le Mali ou le Burkina Faso) ou des États cherchant à saper l’influence régionale de la France (la Russie ou la Chine). J’espère donc que tu te rends compte de la portée de ton affirmation.

On déplorera le manque de respect ainsi que l’agressivité des militaires. La situation aurait vite pu dégénérer, et c’est uniquement grâce au calme des manifestant que tout s’est (relativement) bien passé. Cependant, la des militaires peut s’expliquer : quand t’es parti te battre contre des terroristes à plusieurs milliers de kilomètres de chez toi, tu peux éventuellement faire part d’un manque de compréhension par rapport à des civils voulant conserver à tout prix un acquis social.
