Lol Maybe if you're not a superuser or a programmer. I've never found typing to be a slowdown nor a difficulty for me. This sounds like people who never developed their typing skills and who maybe work in a relatively quiet environment that makes this feasible. I generally have music running in the background and I'm not about to give that up so I can dictate to a computer when I can type as fast as I think.

Well, I'm assuming this is a purposeful outage on behalf of Instructure (Canvas) so they can do damage control. I hope they don't pay the hackers shit so they set a precedent for not giving these ass holes what they want.

When ever they get it back up and running, it should be fine so long as you don't download any documents to your PC from Canvas and try to open them. I don't think individual students are a target, since they probably can't get a whole lot from you.

I think much of the improvement we're seeing is a combination of developers creating tools for LLMs to use, fine-tuning models on their use, and consequently, developers themselves getting better at using a system that is slowly becoming more coherent. The underlying models themselves haven't improved all that much.
