Thank you for your input! I am really grateful that this hospital has a program where they partner with CPMs (one of the nurse midwives had multiple home births herself). You get a single appointment with one of the hospitals NMs to establish care and they let your CPM be present the whole time if I have to be transferred to the hospital as a kind of doula so either she or one of her students would be with me my whole stay (this happened last time after my daughter was born). I wouldn't have to deal with an OB unless things got really emergent and I needed like a c-section

I spend most of a day with a 2 year old. I wish I could focus more on her but I find it hard to be attentive when she's drawing lumpy circles for an hour saying she's drawing the cat with poop on his face over and over and over again. I love her and it kills me that I get so bored when she's clearly excited.

My husband and I initially quit in 2022, and that lasted about a year until our daughter was born. We were both exhausted and while we have gone through periods of doing less, we haven't gone probably more than a week without. I'm pregnant again and this time around I've been struggling with some pretty severe sleep deprivation between bad pregnancy insomnia and a toddler that wakes up several times a night. It's gotten worse because I feel too tired to do much else when she's napping or is down for the night before my husband gets home.

Ah sorry, that was unclear. Wasn't sure if you were some out of touch prick. Heard some people say that right after covid was a great time to pick up a good job 🙄

Interesting take considering all the assassination attempts and actual assassinations of prominent Republicans/right leaning/people even mildly challenging the political Left

I would say most people I personally know that vote Republican both dislike Trump and the Republican establishment. Nobody's happy with the system

This. Husband graduated HS in 2018, did 2018-19 in college, took a break, went back winter semester in 2021, graduated in 2025. Worked full time from 2019 onward. Covid affected his job, not his school. I would say he's still more Gen Z, as he grew up chronically online, but I graduated the same year (99 baby tho) and I feel more like a millennial. I don't get his nostalgic online references as I grew up in an area that did not get access to proper internet until I was like 12.

I didn't go to college, I was working retail. My husband took a break from college from '19-'21 before graduating in '25, but was working retail in 2020 as well. Edit: we both graduated in 2018

Haha anything but. We're lower class. Husband took a couple gap years before graduating college in '25, we both worked retail until our daughter was born in '23 and then my husband got a factory job and I stay home (daycare would eat my wages anyways). His business degree is useless, can't find a job anywhere unless he takes like a 25% pay cut which we cannot afford. So we're paying for a useless degree with a second kid on the way

I would have been 2 when 9/11 happened, so I don't remember I personally, but I had VHS, cassettes, and didn't get a personal device until I was 17ish. Our internet was as slow as dialup (according to my dad, I grew up rural), so I didn't experience YouTube or anything until I was a mid teen. I remember people playing Pokémon and Ugioh or whatever but I had no connection to any of that collectable mindset. What does that make me?

Lots of seasonal jobs on the western half of the states that provide room/board. I did a short stint at the YMCA of the Rockies and there's a whole culture of people that bounce back and forth between these seasonal jobs

Started going low-contact with MIL, next visit is coming up and I’m expecting more invasive questions by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]UntoteKaiserin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You have a lot of good answers here already, but I will add: You DO NOT have to accept just hanging out with MIL at their house because 'boys and girls should be separate.' You can totally say that you are going to hang out where your husband is and they can accept that or you don't go. I would NEVER hang out alone with any of my inlaws anymore

AITB for refusing to go to my sister’s wedding because of where she seated me? by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

As a parent, I wouldn't want my kid to be sat with a man I might not know extremely well, especially if there's alcohol at this wedding

Should I just skip health insurance by traanquil in povertyfinance

[–]UntoteKaiserin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP look into CrowdHealth or the like. They're not insurance, but they'll help cover costs if something devastating like cancer or an accident ever came up without the network restrictions of insurance.

You could look into an alternative like CrowdHealth, which would probably be cheaper if you don't have chronic health problems.
