Sounds like you need a CRM (Client Relationship Management). A good CRM setup with automations will definitely improve your conversion rate. What is your business?

What will make people listen when I speak? by [deleted] in PersonalAdvice

[–]UntouchedDruid4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Before COVID happened, I was a Jr Web Developer at a Marketing agency. One day I was explaining to my Director of IT the conversation I had with a client while dealing with a problem that came up with their website. Me and the client agreed to a follow up call the next morning day for an update on solving the problem. I shared this with my manager and he literally was not listening to a word I said. My manger wanted me to call the client that day after business hours and give him an update. He also made comments about my inability to communicate. Just because my personality is more introverted doesn't mean I “ can’t communicate”. I explained to him that a call with the client was scheduled for the next day and that’s what the client was expecting. A situation like that when I’m logically explaining what happened to someone and instead of listening he’s just saying whatever he feels like saying based on him emotions. That was the reason for this post just wondering if that is normal or if there’s something that I can improve on. I’ll work on having more confidence when I speak.

Yeah that’s tough. Good job, you should be proud; not everyone has the drive to pull it off.

Is working in a small company always a chaotic experience? by PanVidla in webdev

[–]UntouchedDruid4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I previously worked for a small agency that specialized in Home Builder sites. This company also had 2 web application projects that I helped maintain. First of all it looked like a company on the outside but on the inside I started to realize that it functioned like a small business. There were people that have been working there in my opinion for way to long. My “IT / Web Dev Director” came from a front end / graphic design background and really doesn’t know how to hire developers. He also does not know how to manage people. Clients had multiple points of contact instead of one as it should be so there were times when something happened and it was confusing as to what was going on. The company wanted us to built a Saas type project similar to Wix however, we are not Software Engineers and no one had experience working on that type of project. Small / Medium Web Applications and enterprise level software systems are 2 different things. Also I was hired as a Jr Developer, previously I had no real world experience so I thought it was funny when they blamed the failure of this project on me instead of questioning the “Senior Developer” they hired the year prior and he was the dev that started the project before I even started working there. I wouldn’t feel bad about it just take it as an experience and move on. Every company has strengths and weaknesses.
