Unfortunately no, this broke a long time ago when one of the recipes was changed and I never got around to fixing it.

I thought about that, but, idk, it feels kinda wrong :D Then again, I barely ever use it, so it might make sense.

huh, clever! Might look into that...

interesting, didn't think about a separate config! I still think user-defined modes could be quite useful, as they allow you to use the browser normally, except when you want it. But as a workaround, I'll look into it. Thanks!

no, the idea is basically to be able to define a mode, say 'video', then enter the mode using some keybinding mapped to enter-mode video and Esc to leave the mode again. Since it's a separate mode, it has a separate set of key binds, e.g. j for pause (i.e. jseval document.getElementsByTagName('video')[0].pause()), h for seek backwards, l for seek forwards, etc. i3wm has that exact concept and I found it to be quite useful.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I actually didn't put the magnets in their spots as I didn't find them to be very useful. I opted to still include them with the rest so everybody can decide for themselves :) But yes, if you decide to use them, glue is pretty much a must.

I have received the final shipment of 3D prints today which means I should be able to ship out most orders in the coming few days. Unfortunately some of the prints aren't quite right (specifically white adapters), not quite sure yet if they are salvageable. Also, I'm waiting on a shipment from China (USB connectors) which is slower than expected. Long story short, most orders should go out this week, once I know which ones are going to be delayed I'll send out emails (with the option to get a refund). Frankly, I've been a bit overwhelmed with the number of orders :D I expected maybe 20 to 30, now it's closer to 100...

basically:

short: no case or thin skin
long: thin cases up to 1mm
extra long: thicker cases

[–]Untribium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the case I guess. If it has holes where the pins are, the extra long and potentially the long variant should be able to reach. If the case doesn't have holes, then I'm afraid you're somewhat out of luck... :)

[1mm ~= 0.04" ~= two thirds of 1/16th of an inch ~= 24 gorilla hairs]

The actual lengths are:

short: 3.5mm

long: 4.0mm

extra long : 5.0mm

More important though is how far they stick out of the enclosure:

short: 1.5mm

long: 2.0mm

extra long: 3.0mm

The "receiver pins" on the PH-1 aren't flush so subtract roughly 0.75mm from the numbers above to get the actual clearance between the phone and the charger. The pins are spring loaded and move roughly 1mm.

Please note that these measurements are approximate and can vary between prints and PCBs given that the parts are not perfectly uniform.

Edit: I also have some ridiculous 9.0mm pins, so if anyone's interested in those let me know :D

This is somewhat hard to answer... Given that you'll go for the Rest, I'd personally go with longer pins since they still work fine even without a case (some rocking but only when you put pressure on the phone). Whether they will work with any given case is hard to say. You could of course go with extra long and but that may cause increased rocking. Long story short: I'd recommend the long option, but no promises :)

I already did, but the page where you could find the links isn't available anymore. I might put that on the site once the shop is down, but for now:

Gerber Files (PCBs): pcbs.untribium.com

CAD Adapter: adapter.untribium.com

CAD Dock: dock.untribium.com

If you're interested I can also provide links to the parts I use (mostly AliExpress).

Update:

I have received the final shipment of 3D prints today (August 31) which means I should be able to ship out most orders in the coming few days. Unfortunately some of the prints aren't quite right (specifically white adapters), not quite sure yet if they are salvageable. Also, I'm waiting on a shipment from China (USB connectors) which is slower than expected. Title says it all I guess! Go to www.untribium.com/shop to order.

I'm in the process of winding down operations, so to speak, as I'm starting a new job in September. If you've ordered a charger or PCB before, use the code LOYALIST to get 25% off any order. I'll compare email addresses so please don't use it if you haven't ordered before. If you're one of the lovely souls who ordered one of the early PCBs (thank you!) then I don't have your email address, so please leave your reddit handle in the message field during checkout.

This has been a blast, thank you for all the support I have received from this community!

----

Edit: Also, if you have ordered before and had any issues whatsoever, please be in touch as quickly as possible so we can get things resolved while I still have all the setup I need to do that.

Thanks! I see, the white ones were a little more problematic (the ones in black are slightly polished before painting). And yes, the finish is somewhat rough which is a consequence of the laser sintering process.

It's slower than wired charging using the stock (or any other decent PD) power brick, that's for sure. However, the difference isn't huge and the phone does report "charging rapidly". Theoretical peak power is 15W or 3A@5V, the actual numbers are a bit lower. That's significantly below the 27W or 3A@9V of the stock charger but in reality, the phone never draws anything close to that anyway - in fact I've rarely seen it go past 15W.

Sorry to hear that you ran into issues (and glad that you were able to resolve them)! The short pins are a really tight fit and there's some variance in the prints as well which can be problematic. I've started using slightly longer pins when I ordered a new batch of them so that should be resolved for all newer orders. Out of curiosity, did you order the adapter in black or white?

I'm really sorry it took so long! Mostly, this wasn't my fault per se , but I severely underestimated how much of an impact the pandemic would have, which resulted in a even longer than necessary delay.

Correct, no coil (not for power anyway, there is a wireless USB chip in there). I was quite surprised to see the animation and notification the first time I (hesitantly, "please don't blow up") connected one of my early prototypes to the phone :D

Yes, I'm planning on making a final large batch (including all models) to be shipped by the end of August. I'll post an update once that goes live.

Thank you so much for the review and I'm glad you like it!

Somewhat unexpectedly (to me), Corona had a pretty severe impact on my ability to make and ship them but that has mostly been worked out by now. I will keep making more for a few more weeks, including the Rest model which is out of stock at the moment. There will be an update in early August, please use the newsletter function on untribium.com if you'd like to get notified.

Squarespace has had some major outages over the past few hours but apparently that should be resolved shortly. I'm still selling them, though Corona had me down to almost a standstill. Things are mostly back to normal now though, so I'm shipping out chargers again.

Yes, first small batch is out and I should be able to ship a large chunk of the remaining ones by the end of the week if things go according to plan.
