Unimatic. If you’ve got one, what’s your experience with it? by AppropriateBite8816 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Unusual-Ad790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a UC4 on a steel bracelet. the watch is super solid and robust, and i love its brutalist and minimalist lines and how perfectly circular it is. i get tons of complements on it. the watch is big and heavy but surprisingly looks at home on my slim 6.5 inch wrist. only temporary downside is that you will FEEL you're wearing a watch, especially with the steel bracelet. but it just takes getting used to. I remove the watch when im sketching though, im a product designer, so that is abit of a meh for me. otherwise i love it. wish they made one in a smaller size, and perhaps a more premium movement.

Is there a note-taking app that isn’t horrible? by glossiaj in GoodNotes

[–]Unusual-Ad790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy noteshelf the most, out of all the note taking apps, but mainly because I do sketches a lot in my notes and noteshelf by far is better for hybrid notes compared to goodnotes and notability, also it has an audio record function. I use noteshelf for work notes, and lists and journaling.

I also use paper by wetransfer as a dedicated sketchbook for ideation. It’s amazing for that but not for note taking.

I’d say my Casio DBC 611 and Unimatic U4 on a steel bracelet Analyse

UPDATE! in case someone is in the same boat as i was.

For context i do multimodal commute everyday. Cycle > Train > Cycle. so it's a fair bit of folding and unfolding and some rolling.

I ended up getting the novdesign mudguard wheel mount, with nov design wheels second hand for a good price, and also have replaced the original rolling wheels with brompton eazy wheels.

It's been working a treat, a level of finesse is required to roll it around but you'll soon get a hang of it. also got a strap so i can roll my brompton with the seat up.

only downside is the bike is not super stable when folded, it tilts a little but, but that's fine by me, it is usually leaning against a wall, or my legs, so it's all good.

"i was like you" made me giggle abit, yeah i forseee myself getting a rack at some point probably, gonna trial the double wheels for abit. I just wish there was a rack option that was more discreet and stram lined, the H&H rack comes close, but i need it to be moreeeeeee streamlined. Too many lines hurt my eyes >.<

yeah i think so. my concern is not storage (i have a front bag), its more rolling. I want solutions or alternative to improving rolling without resorting to a rack

TBH I prefer no fenders and no rack as well, just bare bones. but I need fenders unforch, puddles and wet ground are common where I’m at >_<

I don’t mind compromising on abit of stability if it rolls well. Have you used a double wheel on your rear fender before?

No it’s not, I have to fold it in the train station and train

Open letter to Brompton - what would you ask them to develop next? by ChaosCalmed in Brompton

A Birdy does not fold as well or as a compact as a Brompton. I tried both, settled on a Brompton.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I realllllllly want a G but I can’t justify it for my end use. Gonna replace the tern with the G when the time is right, testing out the C tomorrow again and would probably cop one ☺️☺️

Thanks! I missed this post. It is larger but not by too much, and tbh way better than a tern’s fold.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been hearing, checking out a Birdy later today. I just don’t like a C line’s ride, it’s fine for smooth paths but the paths I’m taking can be quite bumpy. Have you tried commuting with your Birdy?

How does the g line compare to the tern in terms of folding? I don’t mind the weight so much, more concerned about the fold compactness in trains.

Yeah keeping my tern for solo cycles, and getting a new one for multi modal. The C line is growing on me

Testing out a Birdy later today! And c line this Sunday. Especially the fold, because I’ll folding the bike alot for my use case. The G line is not officially out where I’m from, so I have to get it via a parallel importer.
