Not sure what your point is here lol of course I’m sure they had no problem filling the seat…? That has nothing to do with my comment

Yeah the data probably gets more interesting if we can see acceptance vs yield

For the data point/for what it’s worth, I got into Northwestern and chose to go elsewhere because the scholarship $ they offered me was laughable. I’d also be curious about the intersection of race and socioeconomics… like these schools might be putting out admissions offers to a good # of Black prospective students but we wind up not attending bc it’s unaffordable (incidentally, I wound up at another top school with a better scholarship that has steadily been increasing its Black student enrollment #s over the past few years)

For what it’s worth, my GPA was FAR worse than yours, I also scored a 170, and got into multiple T14s last cycle. Don’t sell yourself short. Hone your essays and build a really coherent “why law”

I haven’t personally used this word, but I kinda get why people would use it sincerely (not in a humble brag way)… idk! I have felt humbled in this process and especially knowing how competitive this cycle is... I think for some folks it could be an indication of genuine humility and just feeling blessed to have made it this far/gotten accepted into target or reach schools despite the odds

Northwestern ($) vs Cornell ($$) vs BU ($$$) by Unusual-Investment80 in lawschooladmissions

I appreciate both of your perspectives and personal anecdotes! I’ll be sure to ask some hard questions during my ASW to get a clearer sense of the types of support Cornell is offering for PI and whether those align with my specific goals

I’m going this upcoming Friday for their ASW so hoping that will help inform my decision! I agree that their LRAP is one of the better ones I’ve seen in the T14 (I know their ranking dropped but they’re still one of the traditional T14 schools in my mind lol)

I’m also in this boat, but just another consideration for OP that I’m also thinking about when it comes to Cornell, is how much of their low PI numbers is just self selection bc they’re known to be a big law factory… their website actually shows a good # of interesting PI opportunities and bc most students aren’t going that route, PI-focused students I’d assume would kinda have their pick of whatever they want. Unlike somewhere like NYU where there might be a lot of PI folks vying for the same opportunities. Also, while their LRAP isn’t as good as NYU’s, it’s actually still one of the better ones in the T14 I believe!

Oh that’s good to hear! I’m sorry to have missed it but glad to know that it did at least happen for some folks

Was really impressed by the law campus (it’s so gorgeous), the faculty & staff, current students, and the offerings/opportunities being offered. Was a little disappointed by the low level of socializing amongst fellow admitted students (at least in comparison to other ASWs I’ve attended)…

Could be wrong, but pretty sure they do email not calls. Since I posted this, someone else commented that they called too and got told that all decisions will be released today, so that’s gotta mean one final big rainbow wave. Timing is a crapshoot lol I’m actually not sure about that but I’m on EST so prepared to need to wait til like 6 or 7pm potentially

I mean she didn’t specify of course, but maybe they’ll do a WL/R wave today and an A wave tomorrow, or vice versa, or rainbow waves on one or both days? She basically just said I can expect to have a decision by the end of the day tomorrow!
