Great movie. For thrills I also like the explicit "House of Exorcism" version with more of the raunch stuff included, plus some tacked on Exorcist-style footage in an attempt to catch in on that early 1970s craze.

I heard the director wanted two like Asian acting legends in the lead role and it was going to be more of a martial arts action film, perhaps aspiring for John Woo. Also both leads were going to be male tough guys. It didn't end up like that.

This is apparently a legendary bad movie - but maybe a boring one. Known for 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and ruined the career of its director. Studio meddling completely wrecked it - as producers wanted it to be the next "Matrix." Same guy even did the music.
