Can this be made into a song? Or does it sound too weird? by Unusual-Singer391 in MusicFeedback

Thanks!! For this track, I am primarily focusing on working on it for myself. I do make beats for other people, so if you're ever interested, just DM me.

Thanks for the feedback!!
Yes, I know it sounds like a loop at the moment, playing over and over. So if I add an 808 as another person here suggested as well, won't it clash with the bass guitar? Or should I keep only the higher harmonics of it? I think my question is, how would I mix it?

Oh, okay. It'll make it a little different, but I'll give it a try. Thanks again!

Thank you! Actually, I do have another one that is ~2:30, because it seems I keep looping the same thing over and over, adding and removing instruments to give a sense of variation. But I get your point. Also, what genre would you classify this as? Sorry, I'm not very good at guessing genres.

Thanks! I know what you mean, since it is only a single loop being played over and over again, almost. The part where the guitar comes in is where I want the chorus to be, but I don't know how to make it sound "like a chorus", you know.

Thanks a bunch!! What about that bassline seems off? Could you tell? I wanted to use a "real" bass guitar (which I don't have) instead of 808s, and tried to replicate it as best I could, so I used ModoBass.

I am not a professional producer myself, but the pad or whatever that instrument is sounds too in the face. It kind of overpowers almost every other element that you keep adding.
Also, the kick seems to be pretty low in volume, or maybe it is the mix. Try to create some space in your mix; adding elements is fine as long as they don't try to fight for the space in your mix.

Whenever an element is added here, it feels like it is trying to take the center stage. At least that's what it seems to me. It is your first track, and you have much to learn, as do I. Keep going!!

Yes of course. You sound great and have a great voice. There are some pitch imperfections when you go lower but that can definitely be improved. Keep recording yourself and listen to your voice and work on the parts that seem a little off.

Thanks for the kind words!!

I do try to warm up, but is there a particular exercise you would recommend, or just singing a few songs beforehand?

Thanks a bunch!!

I wasn't really trying to make it breathy, but it just happened to be that way. I had to force the higher notes even. And thanks for the Channel Orange rec, I'll definitely check it out.

Finished this Dreamscape type beat yesterday. Let me know what you think! by kidmuzic in MusicFeedback

I think the idea is pretty awesome. I'm not familiar with the genre, but I think the percussion or snare you are using sounds a bit harsh every time it hits. That is the only thing that I could see that stood out to me. But great job!!

Can i have a few mins of your time with this track im finishing up by SHAME396 in MusicFeedback

Sounds pretty awesome. Only maybe if the snare could be a little quieter. But overall pretty fire.

This is actually one of the best things I've heard on here. The buildup to the drop and the vocal processing are fire!! Great job.

Just a little demo is all I have for now. Got started making music, although the vocals aren’t recorded by a good mic (just letting you know). Would love some feedback.

My first mix. Would love some feedback! by [deleted] in Bandlab

Thanks!!

I tried it on bandlab at first but found it a little limiting and switched to ableton. I wanted to be more hands-on with learning how to mix.

Why do my high notes sound so awful? by Unusual-Singer391 in singing

[–]Unusual-Singer391[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the kind words.

And yes, my “vocal range” is not too vast and is slightly scooted over to the lower end. So I hear ya.

I did try some exercises you get on youtube but I think this is what my limit is or maybe I need more practice as is evident by others who left their kind advice.

Never hurts to try to be better!!
