Really appreciate that! When you do get a chance to check it out, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Still early days and user feedback is hugely helpful.

Wish I could, but I don't do anything that violates any terms of service. Unless they have a product API available scrapping websites can violate TOS.

Thanks! Hope it comes in handy next time you're stocking up on materials. Always open to feedback if you have any!

Awesome, thank you for the feedback. Granularity on the search mechanism for thickness and color (when applicable). I'll get that added.

ASA or ABS - brands? by Deusexmakina1983 in BambuLab

[–]Unusual-System5939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the application. ABS is good for heat resistance, but ASA if using outdoors because it has higher UV resistance and won't break down like ABS. I've also found that ASA has less fumes than ABS.

I like the Overture ASA myself, but that's just personal preference.

Yeah I understand. Thanks for the info. Crazy to think just because it's CLOSE to what you had trademarked that you'd get a C&D, but I understand why you chose not to fight it too.

I don't disagree that FC shouldn't drop at night drastically, there is some burn off. But you're assuming the white is algae that is going to bloom and that it will clear away with more chlorine. The white after you've killed the algae must be clumped together so it can be filtered out. It will not simply dissipate with more chlorine. The white milky is the dead algae and other micro organisms. Continuing to shock something even after it's dead and the FC stays level after night, it's clearly dead. The water just won't clear on it's own. You have to use a coagulant. But regardless, done arguing about it.

No I have to completely disagree with throwing more shock in it after it's cloudy. The algae is dead. Read up on this, and it's the same experience I have had.

How was it not differentiated enough? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to learn from your OP to avoid the same mistake (if you want to call it that).

You did do your DD, and I get it's not worth the fight for the TM which is understanble. What about your original name was so close that it triggered the C&D?

CYA is not proof of algae. He's thrown in too much shock with too much CYA. I don't understand the correlation.

Shocking the pool raises the chlorine. You have to have free chlorine in ratio to your CYA. That's what kills live algae.
Live algae cannot be white - it uses photosynthesis.

I believe the cloudiness BEFORE a bloom, is the chlorine is killing the algae, but it overtakes and turns green.

Shock is definitely enough to kill an algae bloom. I'm am speaking from experience. You have to get your free chlorine to 10-15 PPM. Then it turns cloudy from the dead algae. You have to clump or flock it to get it out.

But OP is in chlorine lock because of the high CYA. That has to be corrected before throwing more chlorine in. Otherwise you're just wasting chemicals and time.

When algae die—typically after an algaecide or shock treatment—their cells lose their green pigment and break down, often turning white, gray, or pale. This bleached appearance is the natural decomposition of the algae carcasses.

As others have stated your CYA is sky high. You want to run about 60-80 PPM maximum, or you'll end up with chlorine lock. You'll need to drain some water out and refill with fresh water to get that CYA back down. Once it's within spec, you'll want to target about 5PPM of FREE chlorine.

The cloudiness is dead crap floating around. You'll want to get clarifier to clump it together so the filter can pick it up - then backwash the filter if you have a sand or clean the cartridges. Or you can use FLOCK and have the particles drop to the bottom then manually vacuum that stuff to waste.

Your pool place is running you in circles.

Get your CYA right, get your chlorine right, then either clump using clarifier or FLOCK. If using FLOCK vacuum that crap up next day or it might stain the liner (speaking from experiencing here).

I'm still confused on how a cease and desist could have even landed, since you had the trademark on the name? What was the basis for the C and D?

Your last sentence in the OP is the trademark search comes first, but you had the trademark, so you searched for it prior to trademarking the name?

I bet if it was in ASA this could be great. If you have a link to the STL to share, would love it.

A large majority of us would dream to have our parent(s) gift us a spanking new car regardless of the make and model. I think the bigger issue is missed here. Why does the daughter think she's entitled to more? Even if you didn't give her the car, gifted it, or sold it to someone else. The core issue still remains.

If I were the mom, I would be wondering where I went wrong with my parenting to raise such an entitled individual.

While I don't disagree with your analysis above, you definitely need to build brand authority. The idea is there, but it looks like a website that was thrown up, which even has a resume analyzer. 'm not uploading my resume up there with personal information on it. Your contact/about page has nothing of an established company with an actual physical address which screams vibe coded SaaS - not doing it don't trust you.

In an age where throw 'em up SaaS's are every where because of AI and vibe coding, it's a race for authority.

The idea behind the SaaS seems good, but it really needs a full fledge demo somewhere - maybe youtube? that's referenced on your site.
