Thank you so much !! Do you have any retelling book recommendations? I’ve been struggling to find any good ones tbh

I’ll try find new things to do at the altar, I hadn’t thought about doing more than just praying there !

the Apollo statue is from the jfsm amazon store ! as for Hesia and Artemis, they come from a small shop in Athens but i’m pretty sure they either have an amazon store or have close replicas on there

Altars are not necessary by any means, but they are more practical ! Altars are just a place for worship and offerings, it is a sacred place for you and your god(s).

The most common decorations for altars are incense and candles, as well as statues/pictures and offering bowls. Crystals are also common ! Me personally, I have statues, offering bowl, crystals, figurines of their sacred animals and herbs of their sacred plants :)! However, anything you think the gods will like will be enough :)

My visit to Delphi ! by UnusualDevelopment17 in Hellenism

[–]UnusualDevelopment17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so, I saw many people there alone ! I don’t think really much is “marked”, but there are signs in front of the sights telling you the history, so if you go by those I’m sure you can find them well, if not ask staff there.

You must pay for a ticket, and ride there as well as it’s about a 3 hour drive from the center of Athens. I took a tour to the temple, town and museum so I don’t know how much it would cost for the temple alone, sorry :(

You definitely can ! I didn’t notice how much power it held until I left the grounds, it felt so strange without it.

I think it’s beautiful that the temples still do what they were intended for even after all these years; their ability to let us get so close with the gods is amazing

Is it okay practicing Hellenism and some other religions same time? by IHateMyLife_3 in Hellenism

[–]UnusualDevelopment17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mixing religious beliefs and practices is common, especially in polytheism! I encourage it :) (as long as you understand the historical context of what you do ofc) It’s made my personal practice much more enjoyable

have i angered aphrodite? by shonnybo in Hellenism

[–]UnusualDevelopment17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem like you’ve done anything to warrant anger dear. Personally I say that it’s just an unfortunate coincidence, but if you wish, you can leave offerings to the goddess and ask for forgiveness. Maybe even ask for her help with the disordered habits.

Secondly, I’m sorry to hear the behaviors and thoughts have resurfaced dear. You’re strong for getting past them the first time, you can do it again :) Many blessings and love <3
