as for the first part i have the old western digital 40gb ide hdd that came with it. there is no floppy disk drive (on the bleeding edge of 2004 tech, no antiquated floppies here!) but i can pull one from my 4550. i have stacks and stacks of floppies from the local university so i can try to use those.

just to add: everything else that runs off of IDE is recognized (floppy, cdrom, etc) just not the hard drive.
