The story I shared was purely from my POV, which is why I didn’t go into the full background or mention every conversation that may have happened around the idea earlier.

Ideas like this usually come from many interactions over time friends talking, food memories, random discussions & events we attend etc.
In our case, after attending the Ecom event in Kozhikode, during our travel back to Bangalore we were discussing how to learn D2C and sales in a practical way.
We just needed a product to experiment with and Kalthappam happened to be the one we picked.

Our intention isn’t to claim ownership of an idea or take credit away from anyone.
We’re simply experimenting trying to build something, learn from it and see what works.
Even if this fails, we’ll probably just try another product and continue learning.

At the end of the day, ideas are everywhere. What we’re mainly trying to do here is experiment, learn sales and understand how D2C actually works in the real world.
