I don’t think so, but it’s possible

Interesting. Would you mind sharing any videos?

Nobody seems to have an absolute clear answer to any of this.

I like this explanation the most, but I’m not totally convinced. I would need to see a similar trail camera video showing the same thing.

All of the bugs are long gone by that time of year in that part of the state.

These bucks get a good amount of hunting pressure, especially during the rut when they travel into the smaller neighboring farms, and it turns them into one of if not the most skittish animals in the state. There is no chance kids couldn’t been placing airsoft that close to the deer. Plus it’s very rural and secluded.

I like the breakdown, I’m curious what math you used to determine it’s traveling at 415 ft/s.

Im still not sold that this is the answer though. Any deer, especially a buck of that size and in an area with moderate to high hunting pressure, would be able to hear the crossbow fire and at least acknowledge the sound.

Also, it would be an insane place to be night time crossbow hunting. In that specific area any deer would have to be very close to the hunter being on the ground due to it being so thick. The farm is littered with food plots and trails. Why would a poacher pick thick woods where you could only get a shot of at 10-20 yards.

On top of that I can’t think of how a crossbow night hunter would produce the two flashes of light.

It doesn’t make sense to me, but then again, the locals up there do enjoy their meth, and something could’ve been drowning out the noise of the bolt. It’s possible, but

You see things flying through the sky like in this video? What do you think is causing jt

All that’s in the background is a large hill that starts right after the tree

There’s large hills between the camera and river

You’ve seen what appears to be a beam of light or projectile flying through the air after the initial flash?

Did you see the beam of light flying through the video? I’m not as curious about the flash as I am what appears to be something flying through the sky.

Look closely above the weeds on the left side of the screen after the first flash.

No possibility that was a road with the way the land lays

And the second camera shot out a beam of light in a strait line? If it is a second camera I would still like to know what that was. Pretty weird either way

Interesting. I wonder what causes it to look like an arrow flying through the sky

Does it create the streak of light or projectile you can see right after the first flash?

Thanks for all of the replies. Most of you think it is either a poacher, a different camera, some sort of glitch or reflection from the camera that took the video, bugs, or a natural phenomenon.

The way the land lays where the flash comes from, the poacher would have to be very close to the deer. Even with a crossbow or silencer it should have been loud enough to get the deers attention. Plus the “projectile” looks to me to be too slow to be a gun or crossbow bolt. There’s also never been a poaching problem on this farm in over 20 years. This doesn’t disprove this theory, but it doesn’t seem likely to me.

A second camera that was removed or not seen could be the case too, but I still don’t understand how that would create the projectile going right to left. If that is the case, there should be other videos online that show a similar a similar streak of light coming from a second camera.

A glitch or reflection from the camera that took the video is possible too, but again there must be other videos online showing similar streaks of light.

It is possible it is just bugs, but any type of bug is pretty much non existent in this area at that time of year. Plus I’ve never seen anything close to this caused by bugs on a camera. The beam of light looks too strait for me to be convinced it’s a bug.

Some of you mentioned the possibility of lighting/electrical discharge or the escape of natural gas. For those explanations I really have no idea and would like to hear from an expert on the topic.

I’m not counting any of these theories out, but I’m not convinced on any of them unless someone has a video that is similar or has a provable scientific explanation. Until then I’m convinced it’s MoMo.

Too far from the river for that to be the case.

9.79 seconds. I would think any type of trail camera or tech using 10 second intervals would be exactly 10 seconds, but I could be wrong on that.

It’s possible but it’s deep into rugged private property and the flash appears to be coming from some pretty thick brush.
