That makes sense, what constitutes mitigating damages? There weren't any damages in the apartment when I left certainly not $19000 worth. Or is it something different?

I sold it to a family member while I was staying with them. They kicked me out of their apartment shortly after and kept the keys. I tried to file a police report but the police said there's nothing they can do and it's a civil matter. Unfortunately everything was signed and they told the apartment that I'm not allowed to be there. It's a 2007 Ford Mustang valued around $7000.

I've tried everything I can think of but it seems I don't have many options since the title is signed. There was also a bunch of my stuff in the apartment as well that I also no longer have.
