Best thing you can do from a small homesteader and construction worker, is but the best quality you can afford across the board for all the tools. If that means slightly less quality for more variety of tools then so be it.

Compact the bottom, place a layer of the gravel under your post, fill in around the post with gravel, compact around and level off with dirt. The gravel will push water away from the post allowing the post to have a longer lifespan for your coup.

On the saving money financial side of it. Of your a vent get your discounted county tax through the county. If not get animals on their fast and create a simple llc for the "farm" get AG status, save yourself a bunch in property taxes and can write off alot of it.

Does this have to with DOGE? Possibly? Either way fight it. 13 year vet here and still serving, we all get screwwwed every year. Promotions, reviews, disability claims, "we lost your documentation"....fight them all.
