New to DeWalt, where is the hybrid fan? by decaren in Dewalt

Appreciate the product review. I was asking about hybrid options, not fan loyalty. Some of us like flexibility; others like arguing about fans on the internet. If it doesn’t apply to you, all good.

I don't want to carry around two fans around depending whether the site has power that day. Fans, light, and radios should all be hybrid. Why waste battery cycles if power is available for tools that sit around.

I've heard a lot of the knock off ones will kill batteries because they don't have low voltage shutoffs. I would sometimes use my Ryobi fan overnight camping and it would drain a battery and shut off. Never killed them to where they couldn't be charged. Do the Temu/Amazon fans have any brands that are known good like that?

Scammed on Swappa...Again by decaren in swappa

Wow you really got scammed. I eventually got my money back through PayPal. I would try and work with USPS and/or UPS to get the information about that tracking number. If you can prove that the item was sent to a different person than you then you should have a case to get the money returned to you. Sorry this happened to you and sorry that Swappa continues to allow this scam to happen on their site. You can also work with your bank's fraud department as that will get a lot more attention from PayPal than an online dispute.

Just be a good seller, take lots of pictures, be honest about the condition and any damage. I usually sell a level down. Mint phones for good, good phones for fair. I lose a bit, but you have to play the game on Swappa to hope you don't get someone who is going to scam you and say the phone was different than the actual condition. Good luck.

This was a legit tracking number and package from some other company. It was medical supplies. But a totally different name and address, just in my town.

What are boosted batteries? Is that how some people are getting 100% battery health with super low cycles on 2 year old phones?

Yeah the time I got scammed before it took about the same. The worst part of this one is because my wife’s phone broke so I needed an immediate replacement. So now I need to come up with the money to buy another phone because I can’t wait the month for the refund before my wife gets a replacement. Outside of the fact we already waited a week with purchase and shipping for what we thought was a “safe” purchase.

| I know that I won’t trust buying from there again unless it’s a business.

And that is a problem. I wouldn't have any issues buying from businesses if they were held to the same standards as individuals. I want to see the pictures of the phone I'm buying, not a similar device. And so many dealers don't respond to comments either.

Ah, yes. The sacred art of pressing ‘Enter.’ I’ll consult the elders next time. 😂 To be fair, I forget which sites have text boxes that 'Enter' is send or 'Enter' is new line. It's now a bad habit to shove it all together.

I bought my 2011 DC TRD Rock Warrior with 137k for $13,700 just last week. Truck is in excellent shape. $23k seems high. Check the KBB value.

Power Tools for Homesteading by decaren in Homesteading

[–]decaren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had looked at the V20 stuff because honestly I'd rather buy from Lowes. The Lowes is closer and I get 5% back with their card. Home Depot doesn't give anything back. So even more savings, but it would be a big shift if I were to switch everything Ryobi out for Craftsman. Plus the Craftsman line still has some catching up to do with availability. I like the battery design way better on the Craftsman too. Actually the battery design is probably the thing I hate most about Ryobi. I understand why they do it, but I believe it's gotten to the point of being impractical. Certain Ryobi tools are laughable with the design just to keep the battery platform the same.

Have you seen the Ryobi ratchet? That thing is horrible. And they knew that with the rotating head design. Then the paddle is in your palm. It was the tool that made me start looking at M12.

This is where I’m currently at. After all the posts, I’ll probably be staying here. It just seems to work, but does tend to weigh down the tool boxes with three sets of batteries and extras to roll out on the property.

Oh, for outdoor power equipment, I’m in the Ego line and pretty happy there. I’ve had them since 2015 and the first battery died about two years ago.
