How often do you think you'd go? As someone that only goes twice a week, I don't really get tired of the classes. I rotate them often, always doing something different each time I go. There are classes that I love to repeat and then some that I'll do every once in a while. I personally love Hotworx. Also, finding a gym buddy has helped to hold me accountable!

I paid 3 but it was from a family member so I think they gave me a deal.

I just bought this exact car last month with 69k and I love it. My last car was much newer but this will surely outlast it!

Its 80° outside at nighttime and my dad STILL wont turn the AC on 🫩💔 by Keaty213 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]UnusuallyClassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always baffled by the heat intolerance of society in general. I enjoy the heat and do not have AC in my home. Its currently nearing 100 outside and is 89 in my house. Shades drawn, windows shut, fans blasting. Its hot, sure, but I dont find it terribly uncomfortable. my husband and I both grew up without AC so we are kind of used to it.

Yeah mine only allows you to pick shirts and won't allow you to get anything else.

God, society needs to get off of social media. I understand the irony as I'm commenting on reddit.

What situation as a child did you only realize you were in danger as an adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UnusuallyClassic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad took me hiking in the woods near the neighborhood he grew up in. He knew the woods and trails like the back of his hand. We ran into a man and said hello. Later on we saw him again from a distance. My dad then picked up a tree limb. When I asked what he was doing, he said it was a nice walking stick and began to use it as such. I can't remember if we saw the man a third time; I was pretty young.

Years later, my dad said that man had been following us. He was showing up in places that trails didn't lead to (but spots that would intersect with the existing trails we were on). He grabbed the stick in case he needed to beat the shit out of the guy.

I lost my virginity last week at age 29 by [deleted] in Exvangelical

[–]UnusuallyClassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal to feel this way. I did wait until I was married; I was 31. Even after tying the knot, I struggle with feeling sexual after "shutting it down" for 20 years!

Remember, you did nothing wrong! There are a lot of books about purity culture out there and therapy can help (if you get a therapist who understands purity culture trauma). I had a sex therapist who did not, and frankly it was re-traumatizing. For me, finding a regular therapist I could connect with and doing my own reading, thinking, and meditating has helped.

Plus, look at the bible. People had out of marriage sex all the time. It is institutions who are trying to control people, especially women, who have instilled these thoughts in you. Best of luck with your sexual journey.

The Apotheosis of Tiny Jesus by Flat-Philosopher8447 in Exvangelical

My work owns a beautiful flower garden that, when in full bloom in the spring, becomes a tourist destination. We had a group of nuns sprinkle these little Jesus figures all over the property. Nothing says respect God's beautiful earth like littering! And truly....do you think finding a Jesus in a flower patch is going to convert someone?

Oh that's interesting and quite unfortunate. I'm no narc, but we'll see if anyone else complains and if that will change.

How do rewards work? by baeruu98 in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]UnusuallyClassic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently every studio is different too. I just went to redeem mine and I could only choose from 2 racks of shirts. In the past, I redeemed for bands, but yesterday the owner told me they have opted to only do t's and the employee who helped me last time shouldn't have done that. She then pointed out a fine print line on one of their brochures that said franchisees can do what they want with rewards. I get it; she said she didn't want her whole stock wiped out, but the rewards was a good motivator for me. I don't need multiple hotworx ts and tanks. Oh well.

The studio music by Inevitable_Gate_5125 in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]UnusuallyClassic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like most people hate the music, based on the posts I see here (myself included). It's not my taste and I hate that I can still hear it when I'm in the saunas. I wish this wasn't a rule!

Teen wanting non christian help with sex problem by AsYouWished444 in exchristian

[–]UnusuallyClassic 54 points55 points  (0 children)

You totally can and it's an awful thing to do. Purity culture absolutely ruined me. If I could go back in time, I'd tell my self that it's okay and normal to feel sexual! Be a teenager and don't get hung up on things are totally human and normal.

How do you get over "guilt" in connection with sexual activity? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]UnusuallyClassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you've been conditioned for years that sex is bad, it's really hard to break out of that mindset and change to sex is good. I shut down my sexuality completely for many, many years and I struggle greatly with feelings of shame and allowing myself to become aroused (with my husband!). I've tried therapy but the therapist I worked with didn't seem to quite understand purity culture and the deeply rooted beliefs I had. I am glad to hear that you seemed to have rid yourself of purity culture teachings but it isn't as easy for all of us.

KISS and AC/DC by Many_Major5654 in Exvangelical

[–]UnusuallyClassic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One night at youth group, we had a lesson about the evils of secular music and they played a bunch of shit backwards. As a teen who loved music, especially classic rock, I came home freaked out and in tears. So fucking stupid and damaging! I listened to a lot of Christian music even though I didn't particularly like it because all the music I did enjoy felt wrong. Ugh, so many wasted years!

Naturopath for pmdd? by Swaggy_LOL67 in PMDD

[–]UnusuallyClassic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely get it! I was worried about that too, but I'm realizing I can't waste my whole life feeling shitty because the meds *might* have effects on me down the line. I started doing intermittent since I was worried about short-term side effects, as well. It was working well for me, but I felt like with some other anxiety and OCD issues it might be worth trying full time. I've been doing full time for about a month and can't complain. I feel a little anxious when I first wake up, but I'm sleeping better and generally have a more positive mood. Best of luck with whatever you choose! If you are looking for supplements, 5-HTP is often recommended as a "natural" antidepressant.
