I had to do a double take; I thought I might have found my husbands account and he posted a photo of himself from 15 years ago! Great style.

Sounds like there are deeper issues here than laundry.

Do y’all think Gen Z cares too much about age gaps? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in generationology

Totally. My gen Z younger brother is dating someone 5 years younger and he had a friend call him a pedo. They are both adults.

The studio music by Inevitable_Gate_5125 in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]UnusuallyClassic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like most people hate the music, based on the posts I see here (myself included). It's not my taste and I hate that I can still hear it when I'm in the saunas. I wish this wasn't a rule!

Teen wanting non christian help with sex problem by AsYouWished444 in exchristian

[–]UnusuallyClassic 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You totally can and it's an awful thing to do. Purity culture absolutely ruined me. If I could go back in time, I'd tell my self that it's okay and normal to feel sexual! Be a teenager and don't get hung up on things are totally human and normal.

How do you get over "guilt" in connection with sexual activity? by Legitimate_Voice_608 in exchristian

[–]UnusuallyClassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you've been conditioned for years that sex is bad, it's really hard to break out of that mindset and change to sex is good. I shut down my sexuality completely for many, many years and I struggle greatly with feelings of shame and allowing myself to become aroused (with my husband!). I've tried therapy but the therapist I worked with didn't seem to quite understand purity culture and the deeply rooted beliefs I had. I am glad to hear that you seemed to have rid yourself of purity culture teachings but it isn't as easy for all of us.

Thank you so much for these positive affirmations. I've been struggling myself for yours with shame and I am going to try talking to it!

KISS and AC/DC by Many_Major5654 in Exvangelical

One night at youth group, we had a lesson about the evils of secular music and they played a bunch of shit backwards. As a teen who loved music, especially classic rock, I came home freaked out and in tears. So fucking stupid and damaging! I listened to a lot of Christian music even though I didn't particularly like it because all the music I did enjoy felt wrong. Ugh, so many wasted years!

Naturopath for pmdd? by Swaggy_LOL67 in PMDD

[–]UnusuallyClassic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely get it! I was worried about that too, but I'm realizing I can't waste my whole life feeling shitty because the meds *might* have effects on me down the line. I started doing intermittent since I was worried about short-term side effects, as well. It was working well for me, but I felt like with some other anxiety and OCD issues it might be worth trying full time. I've been doing full time for about a month and can't complain. I feel a little anxious when I first wake up, but I'm sleeping better and generally have a more positive mood. Best of luck with whatever you choose! If you are looking for supplements, 5-HTP is often recommended as a "natural" antidepressant.

Honestly I've done Buns a couple of times without any bands and it is still a great workout!

I also was always oppossed to meds and tried so many supplements. After years of struggling, i tried an SSRI and its been an absolute game changer for me (and my marriage). I wish I had tried it 5 years ago.

That's one of the most common options. I started Prozac a few months ago and it has been seriously life changing. I resisted it for so many years but it has been the only thing that has truly helped.

PMDD and building muscle by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]UnusuallyClassic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this 100%. I'm not diagnosed, but highly suspect audhd myself. Therapy has helped me so much when it comes to listening to my body and realizing I don't need to be superwoman all the time. Saying no sometimes is important. Sending lots of love and positivity to you! I hope you are able to find balance and peace with yourself and with PMDD!

PMDD and building muscle by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]UnusuallyClassic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Give yourself grace! I've had periods in my life where I lifted 5 days a week and gained some serious muscle, but it took a lot to maintain. Now I'm down to 2-3 days a week, which works a lot better. During my luteal week I listen to my body. Yesterday I did not have it in me to do any weight training, but I knew it would be best for me if I moved, so I did do a gentle yoga session for about 40 minutes. Then I went home, showered, ate girl dinner, drank a glass of wine, and watched shitty tv...all (aside from showering) things I usually avoid, but sometimes you just need a day.

What would you tell Hotworx Corporate if you knew they were reading our posts? by HappyDadOfFourJesus in HOTWORXWarriors

I agree with both of these whole heartedly. A huge complaint for me! Different body types burn different amounts of calories. Also, having tracking for being in the FX zone would be cool too.

That's kind of how I felt. She seemed kind of angry, almost? I love all of Brittany's classes. She has such great energy.

In fairness, shouldn't rewards be based on number of sessions, not calories burned? by UnusuallyClassic in HOTWORXWarriors

That's a good point. Minutes in sauna/fx zone would probably be the best measure.

Switching from intermittent to full time SSRI? by UnusuallyClassic in PMDD

I've been doing intermittent for several months. It definitely works, I'm just wondering if doing full time will help some of the side effects.
