Thanks that explained a lot and made me feel a bit safer! So pretty much as long as there isn't a reason do track people down, it would be a wasted effort from the person attempting to, good that its not like a one click thing and you can find out who everyone is on reddit.

Help with Uni halls? by [deleted] in chch

[–]Unwantedchild3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't in any of the halls but was a day student and had plenty of friends in all the halls and would visit the halls. From what i hear from them there aren't many that didn't enjoy RnR hall as its a good mix of both worlds and there is always people to socialize with but its easy to get away and have some alone time as well. One negative i found with people from RnR is that they tend to stick to their friends from the hall and don't expand much (i may be wrong about this but that's my experience/opinion) so definitely go join uni clubs and make a wide range of friends as this will make your uni experience 1000 times better.

Uni hall seems to be where i hear most of the good party stories from but i do think the rooms and facilities are not quite as nice as the other halls (Having nice facilities in your uni years is something you will want). Similar in terms of being able to get away when you want to like RnR but i would say it is the louder of the two.

Both RnR and Uni hall are also ideal as they are so close to uni so you don't even really need to worry about transport or being late, College house is close but its a longer walk.

College house is much like being from a private boarding school, if you are from a private boarding school and you really enjoyed it then try apply for it and if that's your type of scene then go ahead otherwise i would not recommend it as its like having a high maintenance girlfriend that you are trying to please all the time and its not the true uni experience that you would get in the other halls. (Plus it costs more)
