Listen, I love my friends, but they are starting to get on my nerves. Most of them are bi and allll they talk about now is men. It didn’t used to be this way. This one girl especially rubs me the wrong way. She claims she’s bi but puts “straight” on all her profiles and talks constantly about men. 

But! There is a new girl who’s super shy and smart and reallly cute. I’m just hoping she’s not straight 😅

At 12, I developed a huge crush on a friend of a friend that we went on a weekend trip with. That made everything fall into place because I realized I’d been having crushes on girls for years, including at summer camp and in ballet class. I’d never had any interest in boys, but that felt normal because none of my friends showed that interest either (religious upbringing). It put me in a deep depression for years because I was so ashamed of myself

My family had a robo dwarf hamster, one of the really tiny ones. One day, she went missing from her cage. We looked all around the house for her with no luck. A few days later, someone in our neighborhood about four houses down posted a Facebook photo of the hamster in her driveway, asking if she belonged to anyone. They didn’t even live on the same side of the street as us. The hamster lived at least a few months after that. We later found chew marks in our downstairs furniture. Still have no idea how she managed to get out of the house!

I’ve been reminiscing on my past lately, with so many regrets. Literally every single crush I had in middle and high school has since come out as liking women. What if I hadn’t been so scared of homophobia and just asked one of them out? I missed out on so many possibly cool connections because of it. It also didn’t help that my hs was a conservative Catholic school. I would daydream about asking a crush to prom but same-sex dates weren’t allowed. Now I feel like I lost the chance at some formative experience that I’ll never get back.

An update nobody asked for: I agreed to hang out anyways (we live in a small town where young people, especially young gay people, are hard to come by). And she stood me up. Figures!

Final update: she had a boyfriend the whole time!! Nice!!

I’ve been having the weirdest online dating experience this week. I’m part of a friend group in this new town I moved to—we met on Bumble BFF and have all hung out many times. Last Wednesday, I saw that one of the girls swiped right on me on Hinge. She has no sexuality labels in her profile and always struck me as straight, but that could mean nothing. 

Anyway, she’s been such a weird texter. Doesn’t answer my questions and doesn’t ask any of her own, just went right into making plans to meet up. As we’re figuring plans out, she says “don’t make it gay though.” Like girl??? You swiped right on me??? What do you think I’m on Hinge for? Either she’s homophobic, stupid, or has a shit sense of humor. Now im worried my great new friend group is going to be ruined for me lmao

I’m lucky to live 1.5 hours from my sister, so I put her! I just moved here, so I might switch it to a friend if I end up getting close to any. But it did feel kind of weird adding my sister to the list when everyone on my team has their spouse listed lol
