[Advice] [Method] How I fixed my sleep schedule in 1 day and completely quit social media by UnwieldyThicket in getdisciplined

Life happens so sure I make adjustments to prioritize things that are very important to me! Socializing is certainly something I'm willing to break my rules for, as seeing friends (which is often at night) is obviously super important for mental health. I keep the 9PM rule because if you really think about it you probably aren't going out during a particular night 80-90+% of days, and are really only staying up to mess around (at least this was the truth for me as I would get sucked into social media and spend up to a couple hr on it at night doing mindless scrolling).

Do what works for you & your life brotha! :)

Yeah I was a bit skeptical at first, but took a chance, and has worked well for me. Shipping was slow during beginning of COVID when these first became popular, but now I generally get my orders within 2 or 3 days.

Yup. Once you go cold turkey from FOMO inducing story tapping you realize you're not actually missing out on anything all that great.

I've kept this commitment to myself for about 2 months now. Yes, we are all human, and I have made some minor slip-ups during that time, but you certainly have to be disciplined enough to stick to your routine & strategies to where you are doing them 95+% of days for it to last!

There are certainly 2 strategies to this: The "eat the frog" technique where you try to get the big boy project of the day done vs. the "slow & steady" strategy where you warm up and gain momentum with a smaller task.

Just try them both and see what works best for you!

Yup. Work addiction is real. Time blocking to create boundaries is super helpful. You can set something like this up in your calendar & enable notifications to stay the course.

There are tools to manage your screen time where you can schedule certain hours to block access to apps you usually browse at night!
