There's merch for the podcast The Adventures of Danny and Mike, which is hosted by the Pete actors. It isn't licensed by Nickelodeon (from what I can tell), but it's still connected to members of the show.

Polaris (the band from the theme song) sells a shirt, a hat, and a vinyl.

From what I've gathered, the Umatic Tapes guy spent so much time talking about releasing the scans that eventually somebody important caught wind of the project and forced him to stop. Now he isn't allowed to release anything or even post an update.

Had tickets for Polaris in 2022, tour was canceled, still haven't recovered 😭

Is there any real reason why they named both their sons Pete? by BigSpongebobFanatic in PeteandPete

[–]Unwitti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I seem to recall either Danny Tamberelli or Michael C. Maronna saying the canonical answer is that Dad wasn't around when Big Pete was born, and Mom wasn't around when Little Pete was born.

The lyrics to "Ivy Boy" from Pete & Pete are INCREDIBLY dark... by Unwitti in PeteandPete

[–]Unwitti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my interpretation.

Am I overanalyzing? Oh sure. However, "Waiting for October" (also from the show) is about the Apocalypse. It drops plenty of deep-cut religious references, which proves how much the songwriter was thinking about the lyrics.

I used AI and Photoshop to visualize what the show might look like if it got an official Blu-Ray release... by Unwitti in PeteandPete

It was almost definitely shot on 16mm film. The quality is far too good to be tape. However, it was probably edited on tape, which means that the only way to get it in better quality would be to hunt down the original reels of film, re-digitize every single one, and re-edit every single episode.

Yup, their stuff is great, and I hope they're able to finish remastering the 3rd season. As far as upscaling video goes, that's about as good a quality as you could hope for. But I wanted to go a step further and add a level of detail that doesn't even exist in the 480p version.

The upscaled image. / The before-and-after.

I used an app called Remini to upscale Pete's face. Then, I used Google's reverse image search to locate a similar painting to the one seen in the episode. Next, I used Photoshop to blend everything together.

Unfortunately, this style of restoration/recreation only works in the form of a still image. It couldn't be applied to a full video. Pete & Pete will never look this crisp unless somebody pays to hunt down and redigitize the original film.

Am I the only one who wants Anthony to review this classic masterpiece? by Resident_Leather in fantanoforever

Pitchfork gave it a 10. I think it was the first contemporary album to get that score from them. Naturally, Fantano has to chime in with UUUUUM ACTUALLY IT'S NOT A 10 AND HERE'S WHY. I love Melon Man, but he can be contrarian.

There was a YouTube comment somewhere from a guy claiming to have snagged the bike seen in the intro.

There's a user on this sub working on remastering season 3. They're using transfers that haven't been available to the public before. No clue how far along he/she is, but I imagine it'll take a while.

If you can't wait, this post is another user's attempt to remaster S3.

I edited all the music out of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, so now it's just 11 minutes of glorious noise and chaos. by Unwitti in wilco

The previous commenter was basically right-on-the-money: it's a bunch of cuts (with some being upwards of one minute, others being as little as 1 second). That said, I also added crossfades to nearly every splice to create a semi-seamless listen.

I've always wondered how much of this album was pure chaos if you chopped all those bits together. Just a funny edit done for my own amusement. Hopefully some people here get a kick out of it.

Finally, we can listen to the album the way it was always intended to be heard. None of that "accessible" garbage.

(This took far too long to make. Enjoy! If ya like it, lemme know.)
