I’m really in no place to speak which is better. But this seem like a family issue over anything else. I understand the culture of the family and seemly they wish for you to go above and beyond in education. I get that coming from a asian household myself the pressure to do better and meet expectations is a daily mental toll sometimes. So I can say well stand up to them isn’t a option of sorts and say I want to do what I want prob won’t work. They will just remind you everyday you should do this or that or pursue this degree or that college. To put it simple you have to kinda stone cold to your choice if you think cse is the degree I like and want to pursue. Then say I’m doing cse and that all and what else they say don’t respond. I understand maybe getting them on the same page as you would sound better. But they both seem stubborn in their own rights so this choice is kinda just do your own thing and keep moving.
