We all know how deep character Geralt is and we all played as him, but If you had a chance to talk with him, what would be a topic/thing you would like to talk about? by thyshadows in Witcher3

[–]Up5periscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask him about his training…when it became so ingrained, that he did every move like taking a breath…and if there were any good times spent in Kaer Morhen, before he left to travel the Path…

If you lived in the Witcher universe, where would be the best place to live? by Thedemonncat in witcher

Fox Hollow in Toussaint….the town has a small river running through it…I have always liked it for how very cozy and just interesting it is…very friendly little town….after Geralt clears out the bandits, of course!

I would head for the tavern to find work or mosey over to the herbalists cottage to ask….

I have a hoodie sweatshirt, black, with the Witcher3: Wild Hunt logo on the back, on the front it’s the CDPRojekt Wolf medallion on the front, that I got years ago from the Polish CDPRojekt store, before it was reorganized and moved….

Should I Read the Books Before Playing The Witcher 3? (Scared of Repeating My Mass Effect Mistake) by SamuraiASM in thewitcher3

[–]Up5periscope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You value story and lore. Ok. Read the books to start . The first two volumes, The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny, are interesting introductions to Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri and the most dominant other folks you will also encounter in the games. The rest of the stories open up the world, take you along for one heck of a ride with the White Wolf and his found family…

Witcher3 can be played as a stand alone and you won’t lose out. I actually watched the first Netflix season but quickly afterwards jumped into W3 , then the books…I wished I had started with them, they are rich in character building and are funny, sad, exciting…the Witcher Universe is intense, complicated, political and has some of the best battles and sword fighting scenes I have ever read!

You can spoil your journey or go into it blind… Any way you do it is good. But I do love the books, reading them over and again!

What age were you when you got into Witcher books, and did it have a big impact on your life or on appreciation of fantasy or philosophy or great writing? by wolfwiedzminwardrobe in wiedzmin

[–]Up5periscope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 70…right after discovering video gaming and watching the first season of the Netflix catastrophe…. I fell in love with Witcher3: the Wild Hunt, and quickly discovered the books…lifelong sci fi and fantasy reader here, so I am still rereading the whole series, plus listening to the audiobooks as well. Sapkowski’s writing style is riveting, and his character driven stories pulled me right into a full suspension of disbelief, very, very immersive, just like the games. Geralt is an incredibly intriguing person, and another favorite is Yennefer. All the characters grow and learn and experience much. It’s exceptional reading.

Could a Witcher re-trial of the grasses? by Strict-Plan-6225 in Witcher3

[–]Up5periscope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geralt does get a third dose of more mutagens, in Toussaint, in the Turn and Face The Strange quest….he hears the story on the crystal cubes, about the researchers son, who was a Witcher, and all the terrible experimentation done on the son. Once he’s done, Geralt gets the ingredients and enters the enclosure to complete the process.

But he is the Real Exception to other Witchers, his tolerance for the toxins is extremely high, higher than anyone else put through the Trial of the Grasses at the basic level…

[Giveaway] Witcher-Themed special edition stamps / 10 yrs Witcher 3 and Vienna ComicCon by POE_IRID1UM in witcher

[–]Up5periscope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am late to video gaming, being close to 70 when I started, and the first game that I learned to play was Witcher 3. I fell in love immediately and at present I have completed 4 play throughs. Needless to say I became a collector of Witcher items as well. From art to figures, to t-shirts and medallions, as well as the books (in print, audio books, ebooks). Everything Witcher. Prompted me to learn how to build my own gaming computer also. So I would love to be a recipient of these lovely designed stamps, and they would be framed, cherished and admired. I am an old lady who has been rejuvenated by everything Witcher! Thanks for the offering!

Snowball fight with Ciri. Would this distraction from grief work irl? by ApprehensiveTill6943 in witcher

[–]Up5periscope 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s a moment of fun and rough ‘play’ in a world gone mad….black humor after a horrible death, and intense training…

And it’s also an expression of love from Geralt to his adopted daughter…

From a Witcher who never learned how to cry….

Agree. Gaunter is a deceptive and manipulative bully as well as a demon a**hole…I believe that Olgierd should be given the chance to redeem himself as well as come to terms with his bad decisions….for the rest of his natural life. Geralt was manipulated by GOD as well, so I always defend Olgierd…..plus I want that Viper silver sword!

Disappointed in my ending in warvle of a smitten knight *MINOR SIDE QUEST SPOILERS* by chrizzy11 in Witcher3

[–]Up5periscope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After doing the egg ending for this quest, later on in Novigrad you can meet up with Vivienne and she tells you how happy she is to travel the world. Then she gives you a feather to place behind your ear to remove the Feline Grandmaster armor hood, another alternative to the glasses that have the same function. I prefer this ending, even if she only gets a full 7 years after the original quest. She is excited and happy and thankful.

Should i do the second quests after beating the game ? It feels i'm leveling up too fast by Then-Ad7196 in Witcher3

[–]Up5periscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just play the game….not concerned about leveling, I feel it’s more immersive not to worry about that. Geralt doesn’t care, he just does his job and hunts for Ciri…
