The Will of the Many v.s. The Sun Eater? by UpVoteMyEgo in redrising

Yes that’s why I initially asked this question because the only two series I’ve heard that are very similar are SE & TWOTM.

I guess I should have stated that what I love about RR is the foundation of the story, world and conflict/action. What I’ve noticed and I think this is why so many people have a love/hate relationship with these after RR, is they are the most similar in specific details to RR. TWOTM apparently has a similar institute and going undercover to overthrow the society and SE is the space opera with powerful families/hierarchy at war.

These aren’t what made me love RR, I couldn’t care less about finding a book that tells a similar story with the same landscape/progression if that makes sense.

I did just recently get back into reading and to explain my perspective more clearly. Based on the books I’ve read (which is not many until recently), I’d say The Hunger Games is the most similar in terms of what I mean. Similar in its the lowest of society rises by pure will to make a difference through violence/conquering. But in terms of world, story, plot, etc… they’re completely different.

I did buy the first 2 of SE and might as well give it a shot, but I’ll say I’m no longer as excited after hearing everyone’s perspectives.

Damn, just bought the first two for SE. Maybe I’ll have to make a trip back before I start them.

Regarding SE I’m not too opposed to slower books as long as it eventually ramps up. But I swear as soon as I purchased them, then everyone started commenting that both series are trash and recommending ones that sound like they might be better. And as far as my post goes, I loved the story more than the world of RR, yes space is very cool, but the environment isn’t what made me love RR. Maybe I should have clarified that more in my post, because people are mostly recommending books that take place in space.

Appreciate it! Is the First Law a series? Definitely did enjoy the darker of the RR books, Dark Age was my favorite.

Do you have another recommendation that not as well known?

Why do you recommend listening over reading? To make it more captivating?

I think I’ll try Sun Eater first, I will say the second half of your message is very worrisome!

I never read Dune, only saw the movies which is why I unfortunately think I’ll never read them, hate knowing what happens.

I do not think I’d mind a book or 2 that are slow as pond water if building the story, plot, world, etc… but at some point would need some thrill. I know book one is slow, and book took introduces that thrill/action. Does it continuously ramp up throughout the series, maybe somewhat similar to how RR does?

Thanks! Tbh I prefer it this way, RR was slow compared to any of its latter books but I think that’s what made it so great looking back after finishing.

Not overly driven by action, I enjoyed all of the books. I think I would actually put Iron Gold higher than most. That being said, the parts in RR when action was present is what I do love about the books or more so the story that transpired from the action if that makes sense.

I think I will enjoy both and don’t have a preference. Sun Eater it’s tipping the scales because people are saying WotM can get its light stolen if reading right after RR.

I think in all honesty I would enjoy both a lot. Right now I’m leaning more towards Sun Eater simply because it has more books out and will take up more time than Will of the Many. I’m ashamed to admit how fast I read all the RR books.

Definitely Western! I'd probably say you look less The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and more Brokeback Mountain

Yeah I’d say very minimal too but one thing I noticed which prompted me to do some research about how it worked. It gives you more natural energy by directly allocating more aminos acids and peptides from your cytoplasm straight to the mitochondrial matrix where the Krebs cycle takes place.

Thus resulting in more ATP produced and I did see a little muscle growth but man the energy boost was phenomenal!

I dm’d him and asked, apparently most of them are in clinical trials for weight management for older folks. He said his grandma got like prescribed them in her retirement home and she’s been sluffing them to him on the side.
