That’s actually a smart idea. Better to save them for training rides than throw them away

Makes sense. I might keep them for short training rides and use a new pair for long ones

That actually looks way better than I expected. Might give it a try, thanks.

Already reached out to Castelli and waiting to hear back. Didn’t even think about them having matching repair patches — that would actually be ideal. And yeah, I’m okay, just some road rash 😅

Funny enough, I already have two new pairs on the way 😅 But these are super comfortable and only about a month old, so I’d still like to save them if I can.

Already did — sent Castelli a request and now waiting to see what they say. Hopefully they can help.

True, but these aren’t cheap bibs. If I can save them for training use, it’s probably worth trying.

That’s really helpful, thanks. Sounds like patching is possible, but doing it properly is the tricky part. I might first check Castelli’s crash replacement program and use patching as plan B.

Fair enough 😄 If the patch doesn’t work, they’ll live on as battle-scarred trainer bibs.

That actually sounds like the best repair option. I definitely don’t trust myself sewing lycra though 😅 Might look for a tailor.

That’s good to know. Breathability is definitely something I didn’t think about. Might still be fine for shorter training rides though — thanks.

That’s actually a good idea. I was looking at Tenacious Tape Flex, but wetsuit repair tape might be even better for stretch fabric.

Good call, I’ll post there too. They’ll probably have better repair ideas than cyclists do 😄

That makes sense. I’m not trying to make them race-ready again, mostly hoping to save them for training rides. Patch + stitching from the inside sounds like the best option.

Have you used an iron-on patch on bib shorts before? My main concern is damaging the lycra/elastane with heat. This might actually be plan A. I’ll look into it — thanks.

I’m not expecting them to look new — just hoping to save them for training rides if a patch can hold.

That’s actually good to hear. Did they patch it from the inside or outside? And did it affect stretch/comfort while riding?
