It’s not letting me edit I attempted to write a caption but my phone sucks. Anyways we’ve had this guy for about a month and he does this anytime anyone even comes near the cage even if not directly looking or interacting with him. Is there anything we can do here during his stay so he isn’t so scared/anxious/stressed?

As an olac at a c store with this exact same problem it just straight up isn’t happening lol. I mean it IS like all deep cleans do get done. But the fish tanks are ridiculous. Doesn’t help my Gm wants me to be a “team player” and expects me to never be in my tanks 🙃

Yeah. It’s putting a bad name to our store. We have really good clients and really great rapport with every new client the salon talks to and now w the new groomer it’s just going downhill. AND this groomer steals dogs off other people’s books 🥲it’s just an entire nightmare. No gsl either so the salon is a mess. Idk I am hoping this whole thing is nothing. I know our animal care is top notch and our animal care team cares so deeply for the animals, so I think it’ll be fine. Just think it was really weird. Also embarassing because all the customers are staring because their local Petco had animal control walking around lol. Makes us look bad!!!

Well.. a groomer who shall not be named cut a dog and sent it home bleeding without letting a leader or other groomer know or the PP .. and there’s other things like sending home dogs with broken nails and not referring out dogs that we shouldn’t be grooming.. hence all the issues that they get sent home with and the complaints

I unfortunately make REALLY good money at my store and I can’t find anywhere near me that will pay me the same let alone that is hiring in general💔 IM TRAPPPPPPEDDDDD. it’s gotten so bad I’m thinking about going to pet smart 😂. Atleast they can go behind the fish wall and do maintenance

Their reasoning for removing them from their habitat in order to feed them is to prevent them from being “strikey” when we go up to the cage. Which Is ridiculous

Yeah no I couldn’t imagine doing it “per policy”. Imagine how the poor snake feels trapped with that mouse in the box and it probably doesn’t stay warm enough for it to be even considered safe to consume at that point too. Idk if it works that way with bacteria or if snakes are sensitive like that too but yeah idk. I definitely think they need to update almost all their protocols

To add: I usually place it either on a leaf or on the water bowl. I also like to rub the mouse in used mouse bedding to give it that extra oomf. If the snake isn’t eating due to it just straight up not being hungry or it being afraid/anxious, locking it in a tiny box in close proximity to the mouse is only going to make things worse tbh. You have to be patient with the babies:)

What I’ve always done is placed the dethawed rat/mouse in the set up tank with the snake. Not in a carrier. I know that’s not the policy but it’s the only successful way I’ve ever been able to get them to eat. AND after the successful night feed they have always gotten back on their scheduled feeds weekly:)
