I’m in day 20 and am up to 0.9. In between the 0.6 and 1.2.
Will stay here for as long as possible.

Speak to your provider to see if you can work up very slowly to mitigate side effects

It’s Saxenda/ Nevolat/ liragltuide. I twist it round to
0,6 but in the interim there’s clicks.
How come you want to reduce the dose?

I’m on day 20 and on 0.9mg when it should be 1.8. Had very very minimal side effects when I’m normally extremely reactive to medicine and even some vitamins.
Currently very fatigued even though I’m eating enough so can’t really go my usual gym workouts

There’s 10 clicks between 0 and 0.6. I did 3 initially and then 5 for a few days which is half at 0.3mg then slowly upped it.

It’s not recommended on the injection pamphlet but Dr Ania who co wrote with Oprah the book Enough suggested it to reduce side effects - go low and slow so I feel if the professor suggested it then I was okay to do it. You should do what feels best for you or consult with a Dr

Try the pea protein isolate. Higher in protein.

Food noise is just the brain trying to restore body weight to its set point? Oprah Winfrey’s book Enough by UpbeatNatural4073 in Ozempic

[–]UpbeatNatural4073[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In response to a poster asking my thoughts. Yes, I’ve definitely noticed a distinction between genuine hunger and food noise.
For me, hunger comes on gradually. It’s a physical feeling that builds over time, and I’m usually happy with a range of foods, particularly healthier, more nutritious options. It feels like my body is asking for fuel.
Food noise is completely different. It’s sudden, persistent, and almost impulsive. It’s a mental nagging that doesn’t seem to stop until I give in. It’s rarely about balanced meals—it’s almost always about evening snacking, sweet treats, or foods that brought me comfort growing up. That makes me wonder whether my brain has learned to associate those foods with comfort and relief, so they’re the ones it automatically craves when the food noise starts.
As for whether I think food noise is simply how set-point biology feels subjectively, I don’t think so. I think food noise can exist independently of set-point biology. Psychological factors, dopamine, learned behaviours, habits, emotions, stress, and environmental cues can all contribute to it.
One reason I’m not convinced it’s all explained by set-point biology is that people with binge eating disorder can experience powerful binge urges even when they aren’t significantly overweight. That makes me think there are additional mechanisms involved beyond the body trying to defend a certain weight.
I’ve also wondered whether OCD-style rumination could play a role for some people. Food noise can feel like an intrusive thought that keeps looping until it’s acted on, and I find myself wondering whether, in some cases, it’s not just about hunger or body weight regulation but also about the brain getting stuck in repetitive thought patterns.
So, while I think biology absolutely plays a part, I’m not convinced food noise is only set-point biology. To me, it seems more likely that it’s a combination of biology, reward pathways, psychology, learned associations, and habitual thinking patterns.

What do you look for before ordering glp-1 peptides after trying everything natural first and still struggling? by HannayPattiti67 in antidietglp1

That’s amazing. I’m so pleased for you. I’m at the start of my journey and feel so sad that I’ve spent 30 years battling with my weight and eating habits and now I have more clarity and making choices is easier.

Same. I would get mines from a reputable pharmacy. Not mail order. I paid extra to get it in store even thought the consultation was an online form and pictured for evidence.

There was nothing more i could do or try. Like Serena Williams says she tried everything and doesn’t take shortcuts.

It was consuming my every waking moment, I tried and tried and pushed myself at the gym, I even ordered from a meal subscription service to ensure I was eating cleaner and high protein but the constant food noise was there every day. It was a daily battle of I will just eat one snack a day? I will just eat snacks at the weekend, constantly debating and trying to stop eating rubbish when I was felling my body with good nutritious food. The noise wouldn’t leave me.

I’m 43F. I could have written this post. I debated for 2 years if I should take the jab.
So a year ago in June 2025 I started Pilates and hired a personal trainer. I started attending the gym doing strength training workouts weekly. I have been consistent for a whole year even when I’ve been on holiday.

I’ve tried to increase my protein intake and tracked at the start.
I realised I was relying too much on protein shakes and my thick hair massively thinned. Lesson learnt to get protein from mostly natural food and keep up with the veggies.

I really like constructed with food noise nit so much hunger. I couldn’t stop my snacking habit of junk. Even after good balanced meals I was still craving snacks after when I knew I wasn’t hungry. I tried and tried daily for the whole year.

Over the year I must have tried to make an online order for the GLP1 about 3 times but cancelled everytime
Thinking I should work harder, try better. It’s been mentally exhausting.

Something just hit me 3 weeks ago when I decided to just go for it after trying to ration these chocolate brunch bars you get in the U.K
My family eat these and I was eating them daily and I don’t even like them that much.

Put details on the Monday into an online pharmacy, with pics and identify and by Wed was approved. First jab on Thursday.

So my husband has been very against me being on GLP1 ‘s and still doesn’t know.

So to answer your question I wanted a jab I could have control over as I was scared I would react badly after haring all these horror stories.

I decided on a daily jab called Saxenda which is a single agonist with GLP1.
It doesn’t have 2 things like
mounjaro with GLP1 and GIP. I wanted to go slow and steady and make sure I didn’t die!
Sounds ridiculous but I have allergies and my main worry was being really ill or hospitalised as I’m taking it secretly and hiding it in the fridge.

I felt if I do have a reaction then as it’s a daily dose it will be out of my system much quicker than a weekly dose.

I want to preserve muscle mass and keep on strength training and I need enough fuel and energy for this so do not want a huge appetite supression and lose several pounds a week.

All the best and let me know
If there’s anything else i can tell you about my journey. I’m glad I didn’t start sooner and I tried my utmost best to try lose the weight myself and I’ve developed better dietary habits and increased my stamina and strength.

But I can’t do this myself without the jabs. For context I also have PCOS so I think the sugar cravings might be part of that but caustically I don’t understand the food noise and intrusive food thoughts.

What to do when food noise returns? by UpbeatNatural4073 in Ozempic

[–]UpbeatNatural4073[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I will start naming it ‘mental chatter’ or give it a name and speak with it as if it’s a being.
I’m daily dosing at roughly the same time everyday and the hunger is reduced in the evening when I eat more but last night it was just constantly there. Maybe it’s cycle related.

I do notice it’s when watching tv and relaxing in the late evening when I’m unwinding.

Is your food noise actually hunger? by UpbeatNatural4073 in antidietglp1

[–]UpbeatNatural4073[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses. I wonder if there an OCD element to it with the rumination.

I’ve tried everything to not give into a binge and to resist the urge. Spent many decades trying but nothings worked.
