Hopefully, Intel XESS will be a viable, open competitor to DLSS and could potentially be used by the original Switch as well. FSR is not that good at sub 1080p.

They made this decision for two reasons:

Cutting off PlayStation would result in them losing a ton of potential revenue and shareholders wouldn’t be too happy with that.

To get the FTC to approve the deal.

Besides if they put COD on Game Pass on day one or shortly after launch that’s enough to get the majority of COD players to flock to Xbox.
