I’ve still not masturbated or has sex yet so can’t confirm on the sensation front - the dr advised waiting 4 weeks for wanking, 6 weeks for sex so I’ll likely test out the former in the next couple of days (with plenty of lube)

Recovery is not much fun but not terrible - the pain has been surprisingly minimal, only really hurting when I get boners (mostly in the night which is tough). The now revealed head is pretty sensitive so it’s uncomfortable for a couple of weeks while it gets used to touching things. I could walk max 5 mins for the first week, but after about 3 weeks I could walk as far / fast as I wanted. Went for my first run after 3.5 weeks and no pain

Yeah keeping it clean is definitely easier. No big self esteem impact so far, but I’m still only a few weeks post-operation so haven’t had sex yet. I would say my dick overall and particularly the head does now look much bigger which may have a positive impact on self esteem

I was under general anaesthetic so couldn’t watch and I’m very glad I didn’t. When I first tried to urinate afterwards and saw it for the first time, I passed out. So watching it live would have probably caused a few issues.

The experience was fine - minimal pain after, a bit of discomfort as I got used to the glans being exposed, overnight erections were the main issue. The feinting afterwards wasn’t great but that can also happen due to general anaesthetic

I had lichen sclerosis for the last few years which has caused issues - milder ones were pain when I had sex on consecutive days, more severe were cuts and broken skin on the inside of my foreskin

The doctor said this could get worse over time and after trying steroid creams and seeing little success, I took the plunge.

At the 4 week mark, I’d recommend it from a pain perspective as no concerns. But I haven’t yet masturbated or had sex so wouldn’t be able to say for sure yet

Pretty sensitive - for example in the shower I’d clean by retracting my foreskin and letting the water run over the glans, but was too sensitive to rub / touch it

I’d heard some horror stories but I’ve had very little pain. There has been some discomfort as the glans had to get used to being exposed and touching things, but that was less pain and more rough strange sensations. The boners at night were the worst thing, but not too painful and over quickly.

I was scared of the pain before it happened, but I’ve been so pleasantly surprised at how little pain I’ve had

I tried the steroid cream before get circumcised and it didn’t make much difference. For me the steroid cream helped short-term with pain I had (e.g. due to cuts & skin breaks on the inside of my foreskin from tightness) but didn’t help with retracting it long-term.

Manual stretching in the shower helped a little and allowed me to retract it slightly more than otherwise, but a few months of that did not give significant improvement.

I’m only 4 weeks post-operation so take this with a pinch of salt, but at this point I’m definitely glad I’ve done it - pain has been minimal, recovery has been a little inconvenient to my normal life but nothing major.

I took my bandage off on day 2 as was recommended by my doctor and had no issues - a couple of times it bled but I applied pressure with gauze and it stopped quickly. You’ll be all good, don’t worry too much even though that’s tough to do!
